My brother manages an HH Gregg and he said he had 4 in the back. Took me back there and we opened one up. Couldn't do much cause it wantd to b activated, then he said we also got this demo....maybe it works.

Turned it on and voila. Signed in w my gmail and played with it for about 15 minutes.

Awesome. I criticize a lot of my former android devices. This? It's everything I've always wanted. Screen is unreal. Fast doesn't even describe it. Super fast. I was giddy. Almost geek giddy. It's so nice. And it doesnt feel big at all. Nice and thin. Light. Fits perfect in my front pocket. Nice matted back. Just gorgeous.

I forgot to try out the camera. Oops.

He couldn't sell it to me yet and said Verizon hasn't given them a new date. So.... Maybe it's next week but they haven't told them yet.

Where's the pics??!!

I was in a retail store and taking pics was the furthest thing from my mind. Trust me, it happened.

Call hh Gregg for yourself. They have them. In stock. As does best buy, radio shack and Verizon stores.

I'm just lucky cause my brother is the general manager and took me to the back.

I tried to convince him to sell me one but he said its not worth risking his job. But some people at best buy we're successful and got some today.

The phones exist. And it obviously has nothing to do with google wallet. Those reports are false.

Anyone else feel like ordering their phone online to ensure you don't get one that's been "tested" by every store employee, their friends, uncles, etc.?

They can't do much more than power it on. You have to g through the activation process.

I tested out the demo they are putting on the line. But I did power on a new one. We opened the battery yes but it's the one he's holding for me whenever he's allowed to sell it.

I would recommend people go to hh Gregg. Nobody knows they are one of the retailers. Each store got 4-5 units only. But I guarantee nobody flocks there.

I got a razr there 5 days after launch. I was the first to buy one there. Nobody thinks of hh Gregg and Verizon cause they only recently got the kiosk back after a hiatus.

Took the razr back tho. Too many battery issues. And no ability for 2nd battery. Deal breaker for me.

Don't be too sure yet. Verizon's complaint about it isn't hardware-based. Google could be pushing an OTA that removes it or blocks functionality...

Still awesome you got to play with it though, I'm loving my GSM one

Here's why I don't think so. Google knew this long ago. And the phones were produced this way.

Sure they want it on there. But it can be an Ota after launch when they work it out.

I doubt they produce all these phones and at the last minute balk. Doesn't make sense.

Nobody knows for sure if Verizon is the one even holding it up, or if it's held up at all. Who knows what Verizon's planned release date was.

I think it has something to do with pushing more razr and rezounds for the holiday.

I agree that this is about product competition- but Verizon makes the same off of a Galaxy Nexus as they do off the Rezound and Razr (if bought subsidized then they make the monthly plan for two years - the reduction amount for the subsidy; if unsubsidized they make the monthly plan over two years + a little profit margin from the sale of the device; either way they make their money off the contract, not the phone). Where they stand to lose profit (and most likely care) is through the in-app ads and promotions coming through Google Wallet (going to Google) versus their own ISIS (going to them) due out later on in 2012.
