We're blowing up over 1 Rumor. Take a step back from the ledge until we hear a little more confirmation on the matter.

I'm starting to think that it's the other way around. I think it's ridiculous to get excited over any release date, Love Tunnel and Cheetara confirming or not confirming.

Verizon owns the jail cell.

Off-Topic - Potty Training

You tried bribes? My neice was apparently the same way. She knew what to do but she wouldn't do it. They tried making her sit on the potty on a regular basis until she would go, but she never would. The second she came off the potty she went. They eventually told her that every time she used the potty she got a treat or ____(insert bribe here). A couple of weeks of that and she was good to go.

Yep, trust me, we have done everything... its come down to just being a waiting game now...And she is a candy FREAK, I still can't believe what we can get her to eat if we bribe her with candy... she turns into a goat for a chance to get some.

Bribes work!! I bribed my son with hot wheel cars. I told him every day that he did not have an accident I would give him a hot wheel car. We started with M&M's to go in the potty. Once he mastered that we moved onto the hot wheels. With doing the underwear thing and bribes, my son was potty trained in 3 weeks.

I'm sorry, but I don't believe for a second that Nexus is going to be outdated for a LONG time.

  • Few apps are optimized for dual core... how many are optimized for quad?
  • Processor speed is almost equivalent. I don't know how I'll ever fill 1 GB of RAM, let alone 2 GB. Anything I don't use is just static potential sitting there.
  • Bloatware.
  • Updates through Verizon, not Google directly.

Sorry, but even with quad phones being introduced at CES next month, it'll be summer before we see one on the market. A year before a truly EPIC device like a Nexus Quad shows up.

So Nexus it is! :)

but it's gonna get the real thing at some point soon, this is just the beginning.

it's still a crappy device. i got my rent-a-razr a few weeks ago and hate it. there is more bezel than screen. it's also too light, if that makes any sense.

if the unicorn of phones doesn't hurry up and come out i'll be forced to call my og back into service to avoid falling outside my extended return period/preserve my upgrade/loyalty credits.

Yikes. Good luck. She'll get it eventually.

You realize all these dates are just rumors right? Until we hear from verizon the 15th holds no more water than any other date. My confidence in the 15th has fallen from 2% to 1%. When Verizon announces a date, it'll go up to 50%. When I have it in my hand and activated, only then will it be 100%.

Bingo. I'm sorry to come across as too cynical but if this week comes and goes without a release, maybe instead of constantly assuming VZW is "screwing with us," people should question whether these "sources" actually know anything. I got excited about the 15th for a few minutes, then realized we don't have a single concrete piece of evidence actually pointing to the 15th.

And I still maintain that the deeper we go into the month, the less sense it makes for VZW to release the phone, unless they're legitimately tryingto bury the device which I don't buy.

For me it's this week or bust.

At this point, it will be a very short lived flagship phone. Practically outdated by the time it finally shows up!

Quad core is just around the corner. I waited this l long, I can wait a bit longer. My phone is fine.

I wanted the latest, greatest most shiney new toy. This one is starting to feel a bit tarnished.

The problem I have with this argument is that you don't buy a Nexus phone for the latest and greatest in hardware. It's a flagship device, meaning that it is the best-optimized to run Android 4.0, it will be Vanilla Android, and will receive updates directly from Google.

I have no doubt that despite having worse specs than, for instance, the Droid Razr, the Galaxy Nexus will run much, much smoother.

Furthermore, if you don't get the Nexus, whatever Quad Core phone you buy in the next few months won't have Vanilla Android. It will have something like HTC Sense or MotoBlur (or whatever it's called now) on top of it, which, to me, is a major detriment.

The reason you get a Nexus is to have a wide-open, fully-optimized phone that is Google's flagship device. I hate to make a comparison to the iPhone, but it's the Android equivalent to Apple's iPhone, one phone on which to run Android as best as it can be run. The iPhone doesn't have nearly the specs of many Android phones but it runs much smoother than any of them and that's because it's a phone made by the developer of the software that is meant to be a flagship (except in Apple's case there are only flagships).

To each his own, but my personal opinion is that the Nexus isn't about specs as much as it is about getting the best, most open, most fully optimized phone Google/Android has to offer.

Just another "FWIW" post. Went into my local corporate yesterday. 4 employees, 1 manager. Right away I mentioned that I was lookin for info on the Nexus and the manager chimed in after everybody immediately stared at him haha. He said "well, we don't have a an official release date, we can take your name and number, BUT, if I was looking for a Nexus I would probably be here Thursday morning at 9 a.m.... Then he let me violate a demo unit for a minute. Thing felt great, coming from my OG. They were doing an OTA update at first and in my haste I didn't check the version afterwards, so I don't know if it was the initial OTA or something new.

Needless to say, at this point i'm taking Thursday morning off.

If you're reading this you might suffer from:

battered Verizon Galaxy Nexus syndrome

n.

A pattern of symptoms exhibited due to lack of PR, release dates and information such as fear and a perceived inability to escape following the epic Android Forums, "***Official Galaxy Nexus Pre-Release thread***" and inability to achieve Nexus Nerdgasm; appearing in techno-nerds, geeks and mobile freaks who are mentally abused over an extended period by Verizon Wireless.
