Morning complaints:
1) I hate it when my toothbrush unexpectedly initiates a gag reflex. My stomach is irreparably upset for the morning after that.

2)Its raining outside and the bottoms of my pants are wet. I tend to sit cross legged in my chair at work, but if I do that now my butt will get wet too. I imagine they

I have yet to post anything regards a date as I know so many are puked out over dates by now. At any rate, I am retired so I sleep when I feel like it (which is nice) but you do miss stuff.

The manager from the Corp VZW store I use had texted me at 9:33pm last night to call him. I didn't wake til 3:30am so I couldn't call til just now (his personal cell). I had had an appointment for Thursday morning so I was relatively sure it was bad news.

But I just got off the phone with him (yes, early I know but we are friends of many years). It seems the big focus now is to make 100% sure or as close as possible that all phones properly released are updated with their "new" update immediately.

That said, he had to push my appointment to Friday the 16th. He stated that was based on information he and other area managers received last evening about the OTA update not being ready for a Thursday morning release. In his words, they were told it was only a matter of hours difference and the "okay" could still come during the day Thursday.

The sales material for the in-store advertising and such wont be put up until Thursday after close and the first true sales day not actually begin until Friday. At any rate, take it with the normal grain of salt of course.

He summarized by saying that it was going to be a "soft" launch initially and that whatever the delay was from the 9th was being taken care of with the now almost frantic "must be updated" on activation. I am East coast and haven't read any of the 20th rumors so if true, that information wouldn't be available to him until he get's to his store.

This is for m1scr3ant.

I'm the guy that posted regards the local manager. No I don't have many posts here but that "post count" is flawed logic. It is irrelevent to the issue at hand.

I posted what I specifically stated was rumor from one manager in one store. I stated the reason I called this morning was because I was asleep when he texted me. Simple.

If any of you wanting to crucify me for trying to prevent doom and gloom if it doesn't roll out at 9am Thursday, feel free. It may be 3 shades of hell incorrect as to the reliability of the info but I know what I was told.

My whole post was only to point out that my one simple unsubstantiated source was saying in essence "Don't fret! While Thursday may not pan out, it is still in sight".

How you people rake someone over the coals for what you perceive as bad news is ludicrous. I say again, it was specified it was one little guy saying this but it did offer a ray of hope if it didn't roll out Thurday morning.

I'm sure there are others who have tried to bring a little "back-up" hope based on their true dealings with one person and decided to never post again for the way your words get twisted and you get personally flamed.

Me? I'm too old and ornery to let you nay-sayers bring me or my message down. Until I hear from someone I trust more (and there are thousands or even millions of those), I will take Jasons word as a good sign that Verizon does intend or at least want to get past this deal which has cost them in more than just the tech circles.

That's all I have to say about it to me, what I was told was not a bad rumor. End of story for the one that matters to me - myself! :p

EDIT: I just spoke with him again and he has received no other calls nor emails "suggesting" other than what he was told last evening. So I still say "good"!

Ahh. Well that makes sense, even if it's not as funny as the thought of an egg, bacon, cheese, and Sour Patch Kids breakfast sandwich.. :p

Don't tempt me -- that sounds delicious.

I have heard from MANY Verizon sources both locally and over the phone that the Nexus was pushed back because of Network Outage (4G issues).

Just saying what I heard internally at Verizon -- not at a store.

When viewing movies, the buttons will disappear, giving you the entire 4.65 (or possibly larger, EarlyMon calculated it at around 4.7" total) inch screen to use.
By the way, here's EarlyMon's post confirming the screen to actually be 112.68 millimeters, roughly 4.72 inches:

This is for m1scr3ant.

I see now.

Still, guys...as he said in the post IMMEDIATELY following Anti's - He posted ONE rumor from ONE manager from ONE store. Could it be true? Maybe. Could it also be wrong? You bet your ass it can be.

My point is that it's not healthy to get so riled up over ONE thing. Go find something else on the internet to be pissed off at, there's PLENTY out there! ;)

Eh, I wouldn't let people questioning what you said get to you... No one is attacking you or your veracity. Just questioning if your info is correct or not.

Remember people, personal attacks are not permitted, either towards someone who brings new info, or someone who questions that info.

Actually- if your opening a NEW line then you need the owner there. If your upgrading, then your fine. I just went to RS yesterday and one of the reasons they wouldnt let me add a new line was because I wasnt the owner, but I am a manager on the acct. They need the Social, and credit card of the owner if you are adding a line or a new account for that matter.
You need to be an account manager to do it without him there.

Can be assigned an acct mgr on Verizon's website.

If the go ahead has been truly given to release the phone on Thursday shouldn't all the corporate stores be aware of that some time today? Why am I willing to bet I get the same "we don't know" answer?

We've got a leak that shows mockups scheduled for the 15th, and a post on another forum saying thursday meeting cancelled for phone launch. So they're starting to roll in.

You have to be wrong! Didn't you read the title of the thread!!!

Just Kidding

You sir are as credible as any other source.

All this hoopla comes from people taking this release way too serious. Folks get information run with it and over analyze it.

Then you take popularity side of it, if Person#1 whom everyone favors quite a bit says something then it darn well may be carved in stone as reality.. Regardless if anything thing else they have said has come to fruition.

If unknown Person#2 says something (especially if it isn't good news), get your fire extinguisher because here come the flames.
