Decided to call my Corp store again and still nothing. Still claiming they don't even have it in stock and won't know anything until right before it hits. Grrrrr.

Had to stop reading on page 1621 real quick to say a couple quick things:

1) about the poster with the avatar - you know what I am talking about: sorry to say this, but some of you act like you have never seen a pretty woman before some of what is being said could be taken the wrong way and or make some people uncomfortable. Yes. The poster choose that avatar but I don't think this is the place to discuss it

2) not that I don't trust the sources and leaks, at this point I don't trust verizon

3) more geek talk please

He said he heard Thursday and Friday (but more inclined towards Friday). No one source has been correct on a launch date yet. The only way to know is to, well, wait till that day comes around.

Very true, the day is neither Thursday or Friday till Verizon actually announces it. But they are clearly telling their retail partners Thursday, specifying it is a target, not a set date. But if it slips from Thursday, it probably will slip from Friday too, because its so difficult to get the word out last minute to slip a date, without a bunch slipping through the cracks and being sold (as evidence of our own friends here), that they will probably just let it go if they are that close. That is why I think a slip of one day is not a realistic slip, and will slip to next week at the earliest in reality (and they are just moving the target date one day arbitrarily, knowing 99% they will move it again).

He's a legit source because he and his twitter/website say he is? You don't know him. Anyone can post what he posted. And it doesn't tell us anything new. Stop referring to every random thing that every random person says as "Breaking News."

I avoid any/all narcotic drugs. I turned down vicodin when I got a MRSA infection. I hurt my back recently, and I know Aleve works wonders, but I still won't take it. Our bodies are equipped with everything they need to heal. I want to grow old and not need 17 prescriptions to function. That's why I treat my body the way I do. Clean foods, lots of exercise and mental stimulation. Barring any freak accidents or genetic quirk, I should be good to go for a long time. (I hope)

I thought this way too until this summer when I was diagnosed with breast cancer. It doesn't run in the family. I am the first so you can imagine my shock when after years of pretty much perfect health I was given this diagnosis. Just thought you should know never to rule out the unexpected even beyond freak accidents. BTW I am cancer free now. Thank goodness!

OT BSG:

Oooh, I gotcha. I watched all of BSG by myself, and later re-watched the whole series with my wife because she'd never heard of it.

It was strange, but before the re-watch, I thought that the whole New Caprica BS took a whole season to unfold. It was so frakking dull and boring that it seemed longer in my head.

The second time around, it wasn't too bad.

I actually liked Roslin. But #6 was my favorite.

Sorry, I know I'm several pages behind, but my husband just showed up to take me to lunch and I'm pretty sure "hold on, I'm on the GNexus forum" wasn't gonna work out well for me!

I didn't love New Caprica either. I didn't think it was awful, but my husband loved it, I definitely thought it took a nosedive after that though.

I didn't know that anyone liked Roslin! hehe
The only one that might be worse is little Adama
I loved the Chief and Cally, Helo (esp since we watched BSG right after finishing Dollhouse), and Anders (what can I say? I'm a girl...)

But Gaeta was my most favorite!

I dunno, I'm starting to think these stores without stock are telling the truth. Given how royally VZW has screwed the pooch, I don't find it inconceivable that they have screwed up the distribution of the phones to stores and some have them and others do not.
