***Official Galaxy Nexus Pre-Release speculation thread**

Not so random question. Does anyone ever remember a phone launch where online orders didn't start till the morning (about the same time telesales and stores open)?

I know nary a one. VZ is breaking all the rules of engagement on this release

When buying new phones at VZW corp stores, is it possible to have the phone billed to your account as part of the monthly cycle, or does it have to be paid for on the spot?

You should be able to. I asked the same question at my Corporate store and they said I could charge up to $400 on my account. I plan on adding it to my next bill too. If they had the docking station the same time the phone comes out that will be added too.

2 verizon places said they had the phone sitting in the back but no release yet, one said he heard the rumors for tomorrow or friday, that's it. Weird, i called these places last week and they said they didn't have it in stock, but today's call said it they have had the phone since last week.

So I flat out told my boss I'm coming in late tomorrow AND I'm using it as a sick day. So I'll be at work for any problems that HAVE to be dealt with but don't have to do much else. Yes, I know it's strange but since I'm the only one who does my job its easier to do it this way than to catch up Friday.

Similar story here with a twist (not your sort of twist). I simply told them I'd be late.

"Oh, everything ok- why?"

"Well it appears the phone is launching tomorrow."

"So we don't get to hear you curse all day at your phone anymore?"

"Nope."

"Ok, see you when ever. We can manage til you get in."

I love my job(s).

Sidenote:

Prior to calling my co-workers, I called my local VZW to talk to my good buddy making sure my account was in order, and ask if he was working tomorrow. He was busy with a customer so before I hung up I casually asked the guy on the other end if they had plenty of stock in case I couldn't make it in early in the day. Don't really deal with anyone else there. So I text him a little later and he said he wasn't working tomorrow but they should have no problem getting me in and out right away so I could make it to work quickly. He knows what I'm after, the talk of Nexus or release dates never came up. I don't bother him and he doesn't feed me crap- he knows my situation with the current phone and that I cannot go much longer at all without upgrading. So, knowing he wouldn't get commission off my purchase he still referred me to the store tomorrow I take that as the best sign I've got that tomorrow may be the day. We'll see right? Even without a PR later today I'll be waking up ready to go tomorrow morning in the hopes that a PR statement is issued first thing in the morning.

No, they plan on leaving it free, but only for this phone. All the rest will have the charge.

Now I am seriously debating whether or not to drive the 1.5 hours to a corporate store in the morning....but I think I will do it friday so I dont get stuck driving 3 hours and end up at a clueless store that doesnt know to sell it or something like that....

I'm see tons of posts where people have one put on hold or have an "in" with someone at a store, and I haven't done any of that yet. I don't feel like driving around aimlessly tomorrow looking for a place thats going to sell it, because i still think there will places that are in the dark as to the release date, even if it is tomorrow.

So does anyone in central NJ have a place that told them they would sell it tomorrow?

Park Meadows mall told me they will go on sale tomorrow morning and they have them in stock. I'm going to be there tomorrow morning at 9.
