If we still want the phone and haven't given up by getting the Razr or Rezound, then what other choice do we have?

The device is not the point, but sources starting it is being sold tomorrow.

If it is being sold, VZW are pure bungholes for announcing today: "Sometime this year". If they know tomorrow, why not say it? Best to say nothing rather than mislead with that.

I think even VZW does not know and they are holding something back.

Sad story. Warning in case you don't want to read it.
Earlier: Went into vzw store, reseller i think, and guy said he would be looking to order stock for his store after 3 pm, but was hopeful.
Just now: Called the store to ask if they were able to order...here come the sad part...and the girl I spoke to said they were not able to order it, and that verizon said it will still be 2011, but not tomorrow. SOAB. She seemed as annoyed by the whole thing as I am. I am sure many vzw employees are.

Getting tired of this crap myself...how bout the rest of y'all?

Reseller, shmeller. Tomorrow's the day, period.

My plan? Call the store I want to go to 30 min before they close. Get the name of the person I am speaking to and verify they are working tomorrow. If they say yes then there's really no reason or chance it can change before they open tomorrow morning. If it does somebody has to pay and for sure I'll mention the associate that told me yes.

What!... I suppose next you're going to tell me there is no Santa Clause...

I would never do that because 1) I am not a mean person and 2) yes - there is.

I will be using my NORAD Santa Tracker on Android to help the little ones know exactly where he is on the 24th, in fact.

FWIW, Phil over at Android Central is saying his sources are telling him December 16th is a very workable date, however, December 15th is still on the table. Maybe it's pushed to Friday?

I generally trust Phil's word/judgement.

OK. Here's where I stand from what I know at the moment. Dec. 16 is very much a working date now. But I'm also told Dec. 15 is still on the table.

In other words, nothing's really changed. Verizon's not 100 percent yet -- and, literally, these things have changed hour to hour. It's ridiculous. But I wouldn't mention Dec. 16 if I didn't trust my sources. So maybe Thursday, maybe Friday.

Edit: And see how quickly things change? Dec. 15 it is.

What I really think:

This has gotten way out of hand. Did I really see sites asking Verizon to announce when a press release will be sent out? That's bush-league from people who should know better. Verizon will announce it when they're good and ready, same as it ever was.

And when Verizon says it'll be out this year, that's the exact same thing they said in October. So nothing's changed. Move on. Not news.

If you haven't seen that Galaxy Nexus simulator yet, it's pretty slick. Hardly like holding the device, but it's a nice way to see how to do things in Ice Cream Sandwich.

If you haven't yet read our review of the GSM Galaxy Nexus, GO READ IT. We should have a Verizon review unit soon. But I'm really not expecting it to be grossly different than the GSM version I've been using since Thanksgiving. The battery life with LTE is a big question. And I'm curious to see how much thicker it feels. But otherwise? Same phone, folks.

And now, I'm going back to work, which involves plenty of things other than the Galaxy Nexus. You folks play nice.

Uhh... not sure what is up with the edit? Did I miss an announcement?

More phones will be going out tomorrow. A lot more. Maybe its a new profit making technique by Verizon, tell all third party retailers the release is on, then cancel last minute, and fine all those that didn't follow (or didn't even see) the instructions.

Really wish I had been wrong on this one :(

I do think your going to see a lot get sold tomorrow.

Edit: Just wish the corporate stores here were "Not in the know"

FWIW, I just finished calling and speaking to 9 (yes I really did call that many times) different telesales people for Verizon. Everyone single one of them told me that I could buy the Galaxy Nexus tomorrow through them, the website, a store or any authorized retailer starting tomorrow.

OTD, you've just made my wife-approved list of celebrity/impossible women I'd beam with.

(Yeah, I know, that's why I said "impossible")

I love you!!

ok, so i post what was told to me by a friend and now im a troll just because you cant stand to admit that it may not be released tomorrow? get real.

Hey, just ignore those posts. Everyone here knows that Verizon is obviously sending mixed messages.

For all we know, your friend's rep was told by their superior that they couldn't sell yet. Who the hell knows at this point?

Point being, don't let a couple bad posts get to you. :)

We're all in this together.

Im sorry! I mean no harm to you, maybe we are all just on edge and bitter haha. You should definitely send a PM with the number you used to call to get this info to han so he can check it out too! That way we can all just figure this out. No one should call you a troll, you are just sharing information like we all are. We are not here to be mean! Just on edge!

I have been calling my local corporate store all week and every time have gotten the same answer including just now that it was pushed from the 9th and they dont have a date yet. The guy I was talking to even said they do not have any stock and all the internet rumors are false about release dates and he doesnt know where tomorrow is coming from.......I then told him I have heard numerous reports of Verizon stores selling them tomorrow and I heard him ask somebody else working presumably his manager, oh do we have this phone and then he told me to hold on..... 2 minutes later he told me they just got an email saying they can sell them tomorrow and he told me they have a healthy stock of them in back.

Like Cheetara said, they've all gotten emails saying to start selling stock tomorrow. Some care about their jobs and are either saying nothing or lying about not knowing. Others don't care that much and are telling people to come in tomorrow morning.

Way too many confirmations (I've confirmed at least 2 separate corporate stores myself) that are adamant about it being tomorrow.

They're risking more if they're lying about something that's not going to be there when you show up than lying about something that will turn out to be a pleasant surprise.
then why are many saying they got emails saying its not on for tomorrow? wouldn't those supersede the other ones?

Well I kept on saying I wasn't going to call any stores but broke down and did anyway

Yesterday I returned my Rezound at the Verizon Wireless @ Aspen Grove. Littleton, CO and the rep I delt with said he doesn't know what's going on with the phone that they were being very tight lipped but when I was leaving he gave me his card and I told him I'd see him about buying it. And he replied "I'm sure I'll be seeing you soon "

Today about 10 minutes ago I called two stores

First was the Downtown Denver 16th Street Mall Store the girl had no clue when it was going on sale and told me they haven't even received shipment of the phone

Second was the Cherry Creek Mall store in Denver and the guy I spoke with just said they should be available for purchase tomorrow

I thought about calling a few more but honestly I feel like a tool calling the stores to ask a rep when they're coming out haha
