Who is going to *gasp* wait until the price drops?

The newish $300 price point is kind of a turn off to me and I'm still somewhat content with my Incredible...

That's probably until I hold the gnex...

Thoughts?

This might change your mind?

My thoughts are that there is more than one good reason to wait, not the least of which is a price drop, but also to allow time for (shall we say) negativities to emerge. ;)

Once the hype has tapered off following release to the masses, the reality of the good or bad regarding things such as sound/media quality, screen lag, 4G/3G signal strength, battery life etc etc will be posted right here in this device forum (as well as around other forums).

Many want the device right away. Some wait a bit. :p

I'm, unfortunately, going to have to, since my upgrade isn't until mid-March :(

I had convinced myself to but it full retail before Thanksgiving, but with the delays and such, I can't justify it, so I'll just wait and watch y'all rant and rave about the pros and cons and then HOPEFULLy the price will have dropped by then and you guys have confirmed its other-worldly-ness :D

Unless you're a Nexus-at-heart kind of guy (gal?), I'm guessing there will be much better ICS phones out by March.

+1 I can get the discounted price now (it actually shows up on vzw as $289) or wait until March when I will either get a bigger discount on a reduced-price Nexus or take that discount on one of the new quad-cores that should be coming out around that time.

I think I am going to be in this boat. I had told myself I would wait to get a phone till the first of the year. I know it is only speculation really, but does anyone think there will be any scarcity with this phone? If I wait am I going to be able to get one the first week of January or should I snatch it up if I can find it now?

Since my personal phone is not the primary line (my wife's BB is), I'm not up for a discounted upgrade until March. The primary line is, however. I figure there is some way to upgrade from that line, but somehow keep my wife's device and number the same, it probably isn't worth the hassle. I was going to look into it for this launch, but i think now I'll just be patient and wait 3 months to see if the price goes down.

My upgrade date is 12/28. My fiance just ordered the nexus on letstalk, so if she gets it and I MUST have it, I'll see if I can get my upgrade date moved up, or just wait a couple weeks. I'm still pretty happy with my Inc running MIUI, and I'll probably play around with ICS roms when they're available (and reliable), and see what's coming up in the works before I decide if I really want to spring for it or not.

$200 at Amazon. Backordered though, but says it should ship in 8-9 days.

AmazonWireless: Samsung Galaxy Nexus 4G Android Phone (Verizon Wireless)

Yep that's the price I got. It's 200 right now with a new contract and $250 as an upgrade. I had the razr for $.01 and they let me do a one time exchange, which doesn't include a restocking fee. It's scheduled to ship between the 23rd and 27th which isn't too bad. Plus, I don't have to ship my razr back until i receive the gnex so I'll have a phone in the meantime.

Yea, that's the other thing.

I'm not nexus at heart, but I was looking forward to getting one to see how it compared with the others (i.e. if the "bloated" stuff that is put on the other phones is really that big of a deal at all). If there's some major enhancement (like the front facing camera, or 4G has been in the past) that the March phones have, or if the Nexus isn't all its cracked up to be based on reviews here then I won't get it.

But if we're just talking about new phones with 0.2 GHz faster processors and "Orangutan" glass then I'll probably just get the Galaxy Nexus (hopefully at a discounted rate) :D
