***Official Galaxy Nexus Pre-Release speculation thread**

Just ordered mine from Verizon's website at 2253 PST. I got it for $249.99 + Tax and got my confirmation e-mail.

The only thing I am worried about is the way I upgraded, perhaps someone can help me?

I went to VZW website and logged on.
I added a GNex with 2-Yr Pricing for 249.99
I had to transfer upgrade eligibility from my 4G Data Card Plan to my Phone Plan
--It allowed me to transfer upgrade eligibility
I got to the page where I have to select the extra features like Insurance or Mobile BB, which are already on my Phone's plan.
I confirmed everything and selected next day shipping and completed the order.

My concern is this:
Since I transferred upgrade eligibility from a Data Card Plan to a Phone Plan, will that only extend the contract for the Data Card? I was talking to a rep while I did this and apparently that is supposed to be the case, but the process was a bit confusing regarding the transferring of upgrade eligibility between a Data Only plan and Phone+Data Plan.

I am just hoping I didn't screw myself over on the Data Card plan since I'd like to keep that line as Data Only (I don't care about contract).

Any advice would be appreciated!

If it works for you can you screencap the chat window and post it...I'd like to have it and give it another go so I dont have to wait til 6 am to call CS

Didn't work. I told the gal "Erica" about being qualified and having a note on my account. She didn't say anything about it not be valid or not applicable. After a couple minutes or her "checking some things" she said to proceed to checkout and see if the price had changed, but it had not. She said I would have to call phone support in the morning to have it applied.

My new game plan is to try these things in this order:

1. Call support at 5:00 AM EST, try to order the phone with the $100 off the current price of $249 (per my online price).

2. Show up a corp store when they open and try to get the $249 price there with waived activation.

3. Call back and order online for $249 with waved activation

I will be doing the upgrade price. I just recall a post a few pages back that said you couldn't bill a GNex to your account (specifically), so I want to check.
You can.

I just used my early upgrade and purchased the GNex... Now from what I was told by the Rep that handles most of my business, it all depends on what type of early upgrade is given (yeah I know it seems to be 2 different early upgrades). Anyhoo the upgrades given with a note that says manager approved can't upgrade to just any phone and the ones with the dates just changed can use the early upgrade just as any other upgrade.
Trust me I know I had my upgrade moved from 8/07/12 to 11/17/11 :)

Wow, you do it over the phone?

lol What?

It's a confirmation email. Not what you might think. There's some new info in it.

Is it the three days to process you see? I doubt that, that's just them covering their butts. Every order I've made with them has always been less than 1 day to process.

Oh, ok that's good. Just sounded like it was already backordered. I didn't see anyone posting that when they were ordering at 1AM, so I figured they hit their mark of how many they had ready to go, and now customer will have to wait for the second batch, per se. If that's so, it sucks. If it's just an ass-covering, then no biggy.

Too bad, guess we're in the same boat. I find it weird though that the price is 50 less online *sigh*

I'd be amazed if my order was back ordered, I believe I was the first one here to confirm my order. If the first confirmed order by a member of AF ended up being back ordered, then Verizon has some serious stock issues. :p

I'm about to take trip #2 to the VZW store to see if a line has formed yet. I doubt it, but it's only a mile away and if there's even one person in line I might as well wait there instead of here.

Plus I am trying to get as much time in playing my favorite game, because after months and months of playing it, I'm gonna lose ALL of my progress by switching to the Nexus. Hours and hours of "work" and probably close to $100 or more invested in the game, and it's just gone the moment I activate my Nexus... but, a small price to pay for my new toy =)

I know where that is!!

Is that your appointment time?
Mine is at 9:00 (premium retailer).

They wouldn't take an appointment but it's when their doors open.

This was my phone call.

I asked, "You are open early tomorrow can I pick up the Nexus tomorrow morning"

She kinda laughed nervously and said "umm well I'm not sure"

I replied, "Look I have to take off work tomorrow to make this purchase can you please tell me if I will walk out of the store with one?"

"Hold on just a sec" she said

5 seconds later

"Yes you will"

"Thanks I'll see you at 8 AM"

Just had a thought:

First off, the thread has REALLY slowed down

Second, since I just added a new line almost 1 year from my last phone, if I do things right, I can get an upgrade almost every year. Too bad the NE2 is gone :( But should make an upgrade a bit easier on the wallet aside from the monthly bills

All the in-store buyers made the wise choice to go to bed early ;)

Quick question!!

I am signing up for a new 2year contract at midnight here in the west coast and I'm debating if i should go with amazon for 199 or letstalk for 155. I know that amazon is offering the 4GB DATA for $30... does anyone know if letstalk will too?

I think there was a post a few pages back that noted that those 3rd parties (like letstalk) will NOT allow you to change your contract with out an ETF.

If you don't mind throwing a small hissy fit every once and awhile, you can get an upgrade every few months like me =D lol

I don't know what it is about my obsession with having the newest and best, but I just can't shake it. I could never go longer than like 4-5 months with the same phone. Not unless the Nexus turns out to be the best release ever and is still the #1 phone come June. But, I highly doubt it, so as much as I love getting the Nexus this morning, I'll love it just the same to get rid of it!
