what about costco? save $50 on tax?

Costco might not be bad. At least then you still get it immediately. But what was their deal again? It was 289.99, but then you have to pay a certain amount if you're not a member there already. I don't think it was anything too much. What's the price at VZW, out the door? No discounts? Anyone know? About $320ish?

I got mine online at vzw and it was $286? or something including a $30 discount, so yeah about $320.

Well this would be a new account with 450 minute plan; maybe something else is different ?

And there are those of us required to order from vzw, online.

That's weird cause I tried buying it again but selecting the 1000 text plan instead (everything else stayed the same, upgrade on family plan) it came out to $30 less.

Yeah, so I think Costco comes out to be somewhere between $305-$310. So it'd be about a $10 savings. Personally, it wouldn't be worth it for me because Verizon is 1 mile from my house whereas Costco is 20+. But it'd be a decent alternative. I just don't know if they have one of those dreaded Amazon type clauses.

I guess I'm just very surprised that there are so many people willing to wait at all by ordering online, no matter what site you order from. I get that you can save some money, that's cool, but after the rollercoaster we've been on for the past month and a half, I just want my damn phone. I know it's most likely not going to be a very long wait, but I'll have mine in a little over 5 hours and I can guarantee I wouldn't want to wait an additional 28 hours on top of that, lol. But I guess some people can't make it to the store in the morning and/or are strapped for cash so that makes sense. Just didn't expect it to be this popular of a choice after this trainwreck of a launch.

What's waiting 1 more day after the length of time we've already waited? I didn't mind the wait, it was the fact that Verizon never released a date.

I can make it to the store and i'm not strapped for cash but I want to save $50 and activation fee by ordering online so I can use that extra money to buy something else.

i am already a member. it's 289 plus 10% tax = 318. comes with some crap and can exchange for a new phone within 90 days.

verizon is 299 + 10% tax on 650 = 364.

one concern for me is i'm moving from a regular phone, and i dunno if costco will be able to transfer my contacts. verizon likely would?

You could transfer contacts at Verizon even if you don't buy the phone there. I think they charge $10 if you're not doing a transaction at that time. But, you'd still have to go there to get it done.

I forgot about the stupid activation fee for buying in store, so I guess it would be more than $320 out the door. do you still pay that even if they don't open the box and activate for you? Haha

If you don't mind waiting an extra day, then there's absolutely nothing wrong with it. The thought of even waiting an extra hour than I have to just is like fingernails on a chalkboard to me. But after sitting here night after night, not knowing which rumors to believe and which not to, there's nothing that would make me volunteer to wait an extra day (or possibly even more depending on who you ordered from). Especially not money, lol. I'm not rich by any means, far from it, but when I spoil myself I like to do it right and not make myself suffer by waiting even longer than I already have lol.

I got it at a $269.99 price so whatever tax rate that is. As for shipping you can't get it tomorrow. Overnight is friday by 3pm I believe because today is really already thursday.

I've got a new PC game to keep me busy tomorrow so the Nexus will not be top of mind.
