FWIW, someone reported that the Gnex is pessimistic reporting signal strength. In other words, it may report only one bar, but may be equivalent to other phones 3 bars.

The "bars" are arbitrary. Only real measure is signal strength.

The Google word in the search box is white as can be, but the software buttons and web backgrounds are grayish?

Yep. Normal - they intended that look.

I agree. Not sure if increasing the brightness would fix it or not.

My problem is that I don't get LTE signal at all at my desk, where I got a very poor, intermittant connection with the Tbolt. I prefer the GNex connection however, because it doesn't cycle!

Which store did you go to?

I took the Lightrail to and from Pavonia Newport for the mall. Got there at 7:45 and my guy was waiting there for me.

Pulled into corp store in florence KY at 8:55. line of about 15-20 people waitn to get in. When they opened the doors they said " we have plenty of phones" multiple times.when i was gettn mine i mentioned that i was off work out of pure luck and csr quietly told me its a good thing cuz they would prob be out by midday. Jus lettn anyone in the area know either call or get down there if yur going to florence.
