What a great phone, but I do have a few questions..

Under developer options, should we 'Force GPU rendering'? Will it make a difference for the average user? Should I enable it?

The notification volumes seem a little (a lot, actually) weak to me- any fix for that without root?

The fixed Google search bar is quite annoying- any fix to that without rooting or a custom launcher? I don't think there is- but hopefully Google will fix this with an update.

Anyone have any luck getting a tethering app to work wirelessly?

I wouldn't mess around with the developer options myself, I would wait and see what others say.

The google search bar can be taken off, just do this.

Settings > Apps > All > Google Search and disable it, unfortunately you still wont be able to use that screen space, but it will be gone.

Alright, I'm lost. I disabled Google Search. Is there a way to re-enable it? I can't seem to figure it out. Thanks for any assistance.

The HW acceleration forces apps which don't request it to use it. It crashes most apps, including the latest twitter app - so i would leave it off for now.

At some point, once you know which apps work and don't work in ICS you could experiment with turning it on. Personally I leave it off.

Another option to look at is the transition settings. Turning them off make for a faster feeling, although you lose the fancy animations. Personally I have both stopped to 0.5 from their default of 1. Note if you turn the window animation below 1 you lose the 'screen off' animation.
