I just finished unlocking the bootloader and setting up my Galaxy Nexus. The Eris is officially retired. I want to thank all of you who have taught me about android and rooting. I came to this forum late in the game for the Eris, but this community has been great. Dooglad, Bobcat, Scotty, Scary Alien, CS, EU1, and many others, you have all helped me learn so that I can help others.

Good luck to all of you and to everyone still using the Eris.

Congratulations on your new phone, metlcat. Top of the line.

How is it? I was going to pick one up this weekend but was seriously bummed by the lack of SD card. Might just get the Rezound.

I looked at both specs and found the rezound to be the best and I have had it since launch with no issues. The GN seems to be getting a lot of negative reviews with a lot of talk about the quality of its reception. If you look at all three the rezound, razr,GN the rezound out specs and reviews thems all!

I love this phone. I never understood the concern over no sdcard. I never remove mine, and the memory is sectioned off. Same as my tablet. I needed vanilla Android. What better way than with a Nexus? ICS is amazing btw.

Seems like there is a lot of people on each end of the spectrum. They either have many issues with data and voice signal or none. I happen to be in the none group. Maybe there was a batch of bad phones that have gotten out there.

I had a lot of data issues with the Bionic when I had it. I think that there are network issues with Verizon and the radios on these new 4G phones in some areas that are part of the 4G rollout growing pains. Specifically, I was having issues with no 3G or 1X data in areas where I get a 3G signal even on the Eris.

So, I don't think it's specifically the Nexus, since all of the 4G devices seem to have people complaining about signal, etc. Though part of me wonders if there will be better radios in future phones.
