I've been eyeing out the OtterBox one myself  , anyone have previous experiences with the brand?

Otterbox is most definitely one of the higher quality and safety cases you could possibly look into. For most phones/ipods/etc. Otterbox always is in the top 2-3 for cases in regards to safety and quality build. They come extremely recommended.

That said, their only downside is the bulkiness. I personally enjoy a slimmer case, I went with Diztronic for now but was looking into the other seino or casemaster super slim one.

PS. There is another thread Here with 2-3 pages of information.

Diztronic FTW. Just came via UPS, adds much much much less bulk than the vzw case. I'm probably going to return the Verizon case, I really like the diztronic a lot....great fit.

Oh, and less than $15 shipped overnight. Can't beat that.

Only thing I don't like is that I keep bumping the volume buttons when trying to lock the phone, because they aren't really raised at all so I can't tell I have my finger on them. Wish there was a cutout for them like there is for the power button..

I just order my Surface case from Seidio. Had one on my DINC and Tbolt very nice cases. If anyone is going to order from Seidio use promo code DEC2011 and get 15% off, drops the price to 25.46 with free shipping. :)

Thanks for the tip. I may go this route. I bought the Diztronic/TPU case which is nice and doesn't add much bulk, but I can't get used to putting a phone in my pocket. I've been holstering a TBolt in a Seidio and I think I'll go back to doing that with the GNex.

When I picked up Galaxy Nexus I went ahead and picked up an Otterbox, even though I was not familiar with them except by hearing the name mentioned on the forum. My store rep also encouraged me to pick up a screen protector, but I declined because I wanted to make sure I got the right one for me.
I'm glad I passed on the screen protector since the Otterbox has one built in.
So far I think I like it, with its hard case with the soft case that wraps around it, plus the holster that holds the phone screen in and has a built in kickstand. When I don't have the phone in a jacket pocket that should be useful. I have not had a chance to see if I have a problem with it picking up lint so its possible that I could be returning it within 14 days.
If I do, any good suggestions?

Thanks for this post! I also got the Otterbox and was disappointed it didn't have a kickstand. After you posted that I played with it and realized it did. The only reason I got the Ottorbox is a I have a one year old who always finds a way to get his hands on my phone. This thing looks like it could survive what he can dish out.

I'm also interested in a holster, but I need to know it'll work with the extended battery. I know it doesn't add much bulk to the phone, but it was enough that the otterbox wouldn't fit around it. The sales guy and I tried as he was ringing me up.

huh, I have the extended battery and had no problem with the case. The sales person told me it was designed to handle it.

Don't feel bad. I don't have the extended battery and the Diztronic presses my volume buttons sometimes. :(

had same issue but now have a custom made one w/ a cut out where the volume buttons are. (aka took a razerblade to it and cut it out) not awsome but effective. cant beat the price for the case so didnt feel to bad about making slight adjustments to it.

Someone in the epic release thread mentioned they cut the volume rocker section out of their TPU case and it solved a lot of the issues. Has anyone tried this, or consider trying it for their own device/case combo? I'm getting the extended battery and want to make sure this issue can be resolved!

just did...works great and probably should have been a cut out to begin with. take your time and use a sharp razerblade. made the cut a little bigger than the buttons so your finger fits in better.

Can you post a pic of how it looks. I would be interested in cutting mine out too.

Thanks

Holsters went out of style in 1995.

No, I think it was a little later than that. It happened when skinny jeans and ski hats became fashion statements. I can't stand putting a phone in my pocket. Holsters provide the ability to have the phone on my person, without having a giant phone in my pocket.

Well, I bought the TPU case. It's not bad, but I think I might try the barely There. I always hate cases on my electronics. :/ I found one I love for my Galaxy Tab (the OEM one, believe it or not) so I'm hoping it's not too good to be true to find one I love again. The TPU case just gaps a tiny bit on the sides, and that drives me nuts. I have an XO skin coming, too, I only buy the wet application protectors, now.

I just got the Otterbox. First time I have ever had a case. I have the standard battery and it seem my case is just a bit longer than the phone. So if I shake it I can feel it slide back an forth in the case. Anyone else have this problem or did I just get a bad case?

Oh I forgot to add. The screen protector on mine has a slight blur to it. When it is not on the phone it is not crystal clear. Is this normal too?
