Galaxy Nexus Watering Hole

OK, so here's the rundown of going from taking it off the charger this morning until now. only syncing gmail, screen on 50% brightness and LTE on.

Edit: I should add the reason for the network going up and down as much as it does is likely because I work for a local utility and drive throughout the city during the day

Edit 2: failed to mention this is with the extended battery

#2: At least at stock, this is the most useless LED notification light ever. 8 seconds between blinks?? Are they serious?? No blinking to indicate a dying battery?? No way to tell if my phone is fully charged without turning the screen on?? I need to refocus and find some bit of zen here. LightFlow doesn't work perfectly yet, I hear.

Light Flow improved this a lot, even the Free one, I haven't yet had a issue getting mine to do what I needed it to after I understood how to use it.

I wish there was a way to add this thread to my favorites on the right of my screen. The only way I can is by checking "The Lounge" in general. I really have no desire to see when EVERYONE posts something to the Lounge in general.

If you are meaning on the app, just subscribe to it and you will be able to get here quickly. I also put the galaxy nexus subsection under my favorites to get there easily

I didn't get mine yet. I would have if it had launched on the 9th. I'm north of the border now and won't be back until January. I guess I can use this time to watch the radio complaints and see if they get resolved. Anyone , can you compare your phone reception to the DX? You've had yours for like two days already!

I moved up from a DX to the Nexus yesterday, and LOVE it!

To answer your question, the phone reception, both incoming and outgoing, is better on the Nexus. People have commented, that don't even know I got a new phone, on how "good" I sound. I called my office this morning, and one of my secretaries said I sounded "so young!" So, there you have it - the Nexus is the Fountain of Youth! :D

Seriously though, my phone is a huge part of my job, and the sound quality HAS to be good, or it would be a deal breaker. I'm loving what I have!

I do hope you get your Sexy Nexy soon and join the party!

LOL...have to laugh at your screen name...I hated my Treo too!

I have new short term goals in my life thanks to this Nexus.

#1: Suppress giving into the urge to whoever the hell at Samsung opted to use the weakest speaker in the world on the phone. I can tell the ringer will be useless in anything noisier than a quiet room. I won't install Volume+ to strain my poor speaker, so we'll see how long I can tolerate it

#3: The phone didn't come with free bacon. Other than the top two complaints, that's about the only imperfection I can find. LOL!

I might be able to live with issue one. Might. I'm on the fence. If I can't get the LED to work the way I can in Motorolas or HTCs, I'm afraid I'll have to go back to the Rezound (unless the HD RAZR emerges). Give me strength...

^+1000!! I can't believe how quiet the speaker is in this phone! Seriously can't imagine what Samsung was thinking when they put it in.

The notification light is not huge to me but it would be nice if it blinked a bit quicker. I won't install LightFlow. Also the lack of battery information is annoying. I have no idea why manufacturers don't just put the percentage in the status bar. Is it something that Apple has a patent on so they can't do it without getting sued? WHEN I root and WHEN I mod, that will be one of the things I'm looking for. (That and getting rid of the silly Google search bar taking up real estate on my screens).

I know a bunch of people exchanged Google+ contact information during the waning hours of the prerelease thread, but I wasn't able to keep up. Was all of that info collected anywhere? I'd love to create a Nexus circle with people from over there (and here).

I'm on the app and too lazy to go find the link (sorry, being honest here) but there is a thread for it. It's in the lounge.

I'm using it without root??

I thought you didn't have to be rooted for this one\

hmm...now i'm wondering...I rooted before I installed it and it prompted me to allow or deny from SU...if it doesn't require root that's great but now i'm wondering why it would request root if it's not required?

edit: it does say in the info it does not require root! wierd:thinking:

side note: app requires root!

ninja'd!!!

The dev on XDA says he's still working on an update for it because it doesn't function properly with the new Gmail app, which is a crucial thing for me. Once that's working, excellent. I wish the speaker issue were as easily resolvable. People using Volume+ have had random successes, but also fear shortening the speaker lifespan. And that wouldn't be considered a defect technically if I killed the speaker by pushing it beyond its operational tolerances. That'd just be a waste of $100 in insurance money. While I'm sure it could be passed off a defect, especially if one uninstalled the app, that's kind of shady. I suppose testing the apps briefly couldn't hurt, at least in the short term. We shall see. :)

Also on a side note. If you do find light flow truly useful, it'd be great to support the developer by getting the paid version. This makes the app more valuable in his/her eyes, and means a better chance continuing development on the product.

Support them Devs :)

I did get the paid version. I don't usually like doing that, but I thought it was an awesome enough product.

I am NOT forking over all that money for Titanium Backup Pro, though. That guy has gotten more and more greedy.

Frakking McScrooge.

Weird. Asked me to allow SU permissions, too. Oh well. At least it works.

Curious, have you tried going into google music app and enabling the equalizer and changing its settings? Made certain ringtones and noti's louder for me.

FX booster works pretty well
