Galaxy Nexus Watering Hole

I downloaded astro file manager. Found the picasa folders. Deleted the biggest one, as that one HAD to be for the Instant Upload folder. Went back to the Gallery app. And? They are still there! Grrrr.

Edit: I deleted anything and eveything Picasa. Photos now gone. Completely ridiculous. You shouldn't have to do that to delete photos.

I thought I did too. Back to searching I go

So forgive me.. I'm new to the tech world.. I know most of you bought this phone so you could "unlock the boot loader" or "root" it.. What exactly does this do? or mean? and what are the risks or benefits for doing it? Thank you!!

For one. If you root it you could add Google Wallet. Not sure that Verizon will ever allow it on the device?

Looks like I'm seeing the Keep Awake problem too.
No unlock or root - plain vanilla and likely to stay that way for a while at least.
It was obvious yesterday that the extended battery was going to be essential, but maybe there is hope that this is fixable.

The new GNMail app rocks my world, as does the browser. Superb.

Anyone else seeing a significant lag on the screen flip.. when turning the phone?

2 seconds?

Whew! Finally got my baby rooted and a nandroid made. I feel much better now. All my apps and data are good to go and everything is set up just the way I want it. Took pretty much all day!
Hi, y'all. I missed ya!

Root. That's what I need to do next. Spent all day messing with bootloader. Turned out to be one small detail LOL

Hah! I spent all day trying to find the right driver before I finally ran across nj02vette and he pointed me to the right place. No time at all to get it unlocked and rooted following his instructions after that. Piece of cake!

I had the right driver. It took me all day to figure out I needed to manually install it :)

Can't unlock my bootloader. :(

Windows 7 32 bit wants to use its own drivers even though I installed the samsung ones. typing fastboot oem unlocks crashes ADB with the line waiting for device. I have rebooted my PC, toggled debug and windows even has the guts to tell my my USB 2 port can run faster if I plug the device into a usb 2 port. When its a USB 2 port its installed to.

Im getting sad here and starting to think about shipping the device back. What good is a dev device if I can't even get into it?

Hello all! Ive been loving my Nexi. Battery life sucks, but i didnt have any real hopes for that. Especially at work, i have horrible signal there. Ive got mine rooted with CWR and unlocked. I love it and cant complain at all. I am really happy with it :) Below is a post for the HD version of netflix. (betcha didnt know there was one ;) ) enjoy it!

I take 0 credit for this file, but I have rehosted and used it myself. Here is the 1080P Version of the Netflix app.
*im sorry about the first file. Mediafire seems to have botched the original file on upload. Ive triple checked the MD5. Confirmed working on a LTE Nexus on 4.0.2

NEW FILE!
com.netflix.mediaclient-1.apk
MD5 4CD35DA0E4D392538462BDC390544561

The app does NOT go full screen like the market version of the Netflix app, but the quality is 10x better. For a test I watched both Tron and Toy Story 3 for 5 minutes each on both apps to allow enough time to buffer. There is no graininess on the HD app and it just pops more. Test both out and see the difference!

* I believe this is from the RAZR but dont quote me on that

I did some HD and Non-HD testing. Now Im running a LTE Nexus on 4.0.2 w/Revolutionary 2.1.0. Ive seen issues with the GSM Nexus not being able to install, but it works perfect on mine. No issues, which is weird. But heres some HD and Non HD photos for comparison:
HD above NON HD below

I attempted to get the same shot in each frame, but it was a little tough lol.

I found all Picasa stuff under Android...data...3rd file on first row(?)...cache...then deleted everything picasa from there. Assuming you are using Astro?

Yeah. Ready for this, I deleted something I shouldn't and just did a factory reset! So it's like new all over again!:D
I'll probably get a month or so (hopefully less) and do this again when I unlock.

Good evening Nexlings!

Jbdan, can you tell me which program I can use to resize photos to the required resolution for Darth Victorius?

I know I'm not jbdan but you can use gimp, or paint or picsay if you have it. Or you can send it to me and I'll resize it in photoshop.

I got it!

I think.

Windows was still crying about some type of unidentified device. I had to unplug my USB cable and its booting up... took a few

I did install a new fastboot.exe and moved the old one (about half the size) to a new folder in adb called "old" Ran the command prompt in admin. not sure if any of these did anything, but I am unlocked now.

Lets see if it will activate
