We have to get custom recovery working first. Sure you can mod the camcorder for hd but how you gonna get it on the phone? You can make all the roms in the world but how are you going to get them on the phone? Lets wait until the custom recovery is finished before we make any more threads about anything else please.

Follow the progress in the Testers wanted thread. And if you want you can help test. The more people involved the better.

STATUS: As of now Sebastian404 has made 10 betas already. Beta 10 is working great but it randomly freezes up. I have successfully used it to make a backup. I have not done a restore because if it does freeze in the middle of it it could brick my phone until we get a working custom recovery.

but just how close is Sebastian404 to custom recovery on your opinion anyway? or maybe by his own if he happens to see this thread


P.S The HD camera mod would make this phone Perfect! but do you know as to how that works?

It works but there is an error where it randomly freezes, Sebastian404 is working on it but doesnt even own a zte warp so is depending on people like us to test all builds for it. So its been slow and tedious.

With this in mind I am wondering if we get the recovery working properly how much dev support will we really get if sebastion is the only one really working on this thing?

On a side note Woodstock I read that you are a little reluctant to test the restore process of the recovery? As long as you can always get back into FTE mode on your phone you should be able to run the upgrade tool found in these forums to restore your phone back to the latest ROM from ZTE. I have read a couple of other posts on here as well with people that throught they bricked there phone and that seemed to be a universal solution.

As long as you can always get back into FTE mode on your phone you should be able to run the upgrade tool found in these forums to restore your phone back to the latest ROM from ZTE. I have read a couple of other posts on here as well with people that throught they bricked there phone and that seemed to be a universal solution.

(BTW they cant afford to buy every phone so they ask us to test it for them) There is also an unwritten rule (call it etiquette) not to step on someone elses territory so to speak.

Interesting I didnt know it replaced FTE. So are you going to get brave one night and attempt the restore then? Is that the last peice of untested funtionality of the recovery? I see TWRP 2.0 has also come out. Could modding that be another solution? I wonder if Sebastion has considered that?

I would be surprise if this was the case.
Recovery is entered by pressing power+volume up . FTM is entered by pressing power+volume down. They are different things.

After installing CWM FTM is no longr there. Power+volume down will also get you into CWM. I dont know why but thats the way it is.

wow... so ftm is on the recovery partition which gets wiped. I did a bit of looking and apparently this is normal on zte phones.
