Media player for the Nexus one.

As it is today...
'decent-good'..... bout the same as I would rate the Iphone/Ipod media player 'decent-good'

Far Far better for videos , Better for pictures ((would be FAR better if not for the low res when zoomed)). Not as good for music based on visuals.

I find audio quality to be the same. Widget for music is a huge plus. But nowhere as nice looking as the album art gallery Iphone has.

Iphone used butt rape Android media wise. The N1 closes the gap significantly.

I've started using mVideoPlayer thanks to the suggestion in that Best Media Player thread and I agree that as far as I've seen it's best, due to its simplicity.
Subtitle support is good too.
All I want now is xvid support - I have to say I was very disappointed when I found it wasn't available on Android, I had assumed it would be.

Can someone help me with the big picture regarding video on Android (N1)? It seems that mp4, m4v and 3gp are the only codecs available. On my previous phones, I played wmv, avi, mpeg and just about anything on my computer. Is this just immaturity on Android, or is there some systemic or legal reason why other formats are not supported?

Other than converting files for use on the N1, is there any simple solution? Thanks!
