Galaxy Nexus Watering Hole

Han,

Curious. What do you think of 4.0.3? I was thinking of holding off because it seems as if I'm running through a rom per day on this thing. If it's significant I'll do it now.

Lemme know.
Steven

I wouldn't do it quite yet. Too many bugs. Calendar not syncing, inability to flash any mods such as software search button. Gingerbread music app instead of the ICS one. . .

It's smoother than stock 4.0.2, but about the same as the Universal HD mod, which is what I ultimately went back to.

It's just not there yet.

I set mine up with a passcode, and had to enter it before it would accept the transaction. I sure wouldn't feel comfortable NOT setting it up that way.

Yeah it prompted for my passcode. But it was so simple to just turn on and put it to the terminal.

Guess what I just got on my email...the VZ email about the Nexus. And I STILL DON'T HAVE IT!!! I've given up on it coming tonight. :(

Awwww. Sowwy. :(
I got the email too though.

I got the email, too.

Don't worry, KST. You can wait. It's not that good. You're not missing out on anything.

Well, I sure wish I could find a place to write up a bug report to Google about this lost music thing.

With 2/3 of my music loaded but not registering as "there" by any music program (including Google Music Player), I wiped the music folder and marked ALL of my online music for "offline" listening.

4GBs later, all my music was on the phone. Ya think Google put it in the Music folder? HECK NO! It's still empty! In fact, I can't find that music ANYWHERE!

So this is a major ICS issue, with it losing my music like that. Rant over.

Oh, by the way:

Astro File Manager can see the SYSTEM FILES on my Nexus and I'm not rooted! :D

I'm 45, been married for 23 years and have a 13 year-old daughter. I work as a program manager for an electronic toy company (that's kids toys) and am a part-time landscape photographer (Images).

I STILL don't have my nexus and have given up on getting an early upgrade. Hopefully when I am eligible to buy one in 10 days we'll have more info about the signal issues and other bugs.

Hey, BB, I tried scaling the pictures I wanted for wallpapers using Gimp, but I feel like they might be a bit smushed together. Do you get that, too?

Here are some examples:

The original pictures seemed more spaced out and even. I'm using 1440 for width, 1280 for height. Is that right?

I usually end up scaling and tweaking them to get them to fit properly because I dislike the smooshing factor. But your sizing is correct.
[Hide] yeah, thats what she said [/spoiler]

HTC Android Phones Are Being Banned from the US Next Year

Apple really needs to stop these lawsuits. In my opinion copying has gone on forever. Companies copy and possibly make things better. Apple started all this bullshit and they need to end it. I am so sick of them.

From what I'm reading, Alls HTC needs to do is not make devices with old android versions.

"The United States International Trade Commission just ruled in favor of Apple in its case against HTC and banned the importation and sale of HTC Android devices running Android 1.6 to 2.2"

2.3.x and 4.X should be good to go still.

Well this is the last time I will be making an order from VZW online. I ordered my extended battery on Friday, got a sales confirmation email. Since then, NOTHING. I've tried to check the status on their website, but it says page not available. I've tried different browsers and reloading, everything, and it just plain doesn't work. I'm really annoyed, I could have just picked one up at a corporate store when doing errands but I thought this would be simpler. I was wrong.

Emailed customer service, hopefully they'll respond with something.

I can't think of how many features I noticed on iOS5 that were obviously borrowed from Android! I hate the hypocrisy. We will use your ideas, but you can't use ours

You need to lock the aspect ratio and crop first.
