ICS 4.0.3 OTA will be available for Nexus S I9020A????

ICS 4.0.3 OTA will be available for Nexus S I9020A????, Im one of the old ones using this Nexus S phone, and will have to wait for the OTA update (If ever available) as the one in the web will not work for this model.

Does anyone knows if an update will be done to these?

Thanks!!

But it will be done within this month as it was said by google right? or its not suppossed to be this way??

Did you ever get the OTA for 2.3.6? I have the I9020A and still have never gotten the OTA on the 2.3.6. I talked to At&t and they said that there were no new updates for my phone. What is going on how could 4.0.3 be release to tmobil and 2.3.6 still not even released to at&t? I don't understand this. Why does tmobil get first and very high priority over the At&t model? Thanks a lot google.

Cause AT&T sucks in all areas :).

T-Mobile was the first carrier for Google - so I imagine they give them preference because of that.

Really that is the best you can do? Like someone using Tmobile has any room to talk. Tmobile is garbage, and want be a company in a year. Enjoy your Nexus s updates for now.

I understand that the Tmobile phone came out first, but 2.3.6 is not even official for At&t. When was that release? I mean come on google. I thought all Nexus devices were suppose to be on the most up to date software. I think Google is starting to loose it touch a little. I mean look at the Verizon Galaxy Nexus not even really a Nexus device. They have really just sold out.

Wow, defensive much?

Actually - they will be, because the government rightly blocked AT&T's attempt to ruin T-Mobile.

Good luck.

I did not mean At&t would get it. The company needs money and that is why they wanted to merge with At&t. I don't want them to get tmobile. I am just saying tmobile is in some trouble if they can not find someone to fund them. The two major phone services are going eat the little guys up in about a year, so that is why I say they want be around unless they can join forces with another phone company.

You are getting your updates right now, and you can laugh in our faces for now. At&t is only worried about the iphone right now, and that is the only thing they know anything about. I really hope they move away from that, but I don't see that happening any time soon. Unless you are here to help give advice don't post because telling us how great t-mobile is and how bad Att is gets no one anywhere.

Please if anyone has advice about getting At&t to push 2.3.6 update to your phone I would love to hear it. I called them today and the lady said there were no updates for my phone. She said that Google gives them the update to push to us, and they had no update. I know that google has sent out 2.3.6, but I have no idea why I don't have. The reason I say this is because I want to 2.3.6, so that I can get 4.0.3. I have received no OTAs on my phone. I have had it for a month and half.

Ok,

I am sure that that Google will release the I9020A update, however do not hold your breath for ATT to do a release (don't panic though). Watch the forums here and at XDA. They are usually pretty good about keeping up with the releases. The reason that I say that is that I have been with ATT for a very long time and am on my third android phone. The way it works is Google would send ATT the release and then ATT would ruin it by locking it down with their bloatware or they don't release it all. I myself have a I9020A that I bought unbranded meaning that it does not have any ATT stuff on it and even I had to manually update to 2.3.6. Just wait for the update to turn up here or at XDA and then follow the install instructions. You will probably have to root your phone (which is pretty easy) but it is totally worth it. Again, I am sure that it will turn up soon.

Dude, it was a joke! Did you notice the happy face at the end of it? Your are taking it ALL too seriously. If you don't get it today, you'll get it another day. It's not the end of the world. If I didn't have what I have I wouldn't be crying and moaning about it. It's a PHONE!

OK, this is getting out of line, you guys.

Jorgejlga, you've asked this question all over the forum. No one knows when the update will be coming out for the I9020A, but I promise you that we're all keeping an eye out for it. You don't need to keep reminding us. The day the official update for the I9020A is out, I will update the stickied Nexus S ICS thread with the information, so just keep an eye out there. Please stop asking.

Elemteacher, Brounmoney, chill out. You've gotten way off topic and aren't contributing productively. I know it's frustrating to have to wait for the I9020A update to roll out, but quarreling with each other won't get it here any faster. I agree that T-Mobile is in a tough spot. Let's just all hope Google buys them out.

For everyone wondering when the I9020A ICS update will be out, please just keep an eye on the stickied ICS update thread. It will continually be updated as new information comes out.

Well the problem would not be with Att adding bloatware cause google want let them do that. The att version that I have has not att stuff on it at all. I think google maybe holding out on att and att is not forcing the issue.

I will not be rooting my phone ever, and I am not going to manually update it cause I am not taking the chance of bricking it. Having to manually update the phone completely takes away from having a Nexus phone. I saw on engadget that Samsung will release ICS to the S line in the first quarter of 2012. If they get the update before all the Nexus s have the update I am done with google.

I'm sorry - I didn't realize how sensitive people are about their phone carriers and how important to life it is to have this update!

What does the carrier have to do with this? Oh right, most are locked down to specific carriers and wait for them to do the work for them. I gave up on carriers long before smart phones became cooler than camera phones (which were also locked down and sucky). The reason I'd be curious about one carrier's OTA over another is that once out the developers have something to work with easier considering the variations in hardware.

I ran ICS over the weekend on my NS and trust me, the official update pales in speed over a well tuned GB rom. ICS is nice and smooth but I'll wait for tweaked versions.
