Galaxy Nexus Watering Hole

Good morning guys!

Actually busy at work and productive for the first time in months.

Just wanted to throw out an FYI for those experiencing artifacts in dark areas while watching movies:

It appears that the conversion process is to blame, not the display. I converted Star Wars using DVD catalyst and the result was nothing short of amazing.

Full HD and blacks were like ink.

Also watched a part of the newest Star Trek movie on the Netflix 1080 app and got the same awesome results.

Handbrake is dead to me.

I finally found a dentist I like! Its the first time I haven't been chastised for my tongue piercing. And she didn't yell at me for not having had a cleaning in over a year.
Tongue piercings are never something to be chastized for, IMO. :D

Link to the 1080 Netflix app, plox? :D Also, is DVD Catalyst free? And how large were the resulting converted files? Did you store them directly on the phone, or in a cloud app?

I hate it when going to the dentist is worse than going to confession....

forgive me Dr. for I have sinned, it has been 18 months since my last cleaning

I tried Anydvd Hd. i think I my have a problem with my Blu-ray drive in my computer because DVD Catalyst will no read my Blu-Rays, but it will read my DVDs.

I've never understood this about dentists?? About anything you need them to do borders on worse than the problem you are looking to resolved and on top of that they are often rude about how you maintain your teeth even if you aren't there for something major. And it seems to be the only field in medicine where advances in less invasive solutions to issues seem to never happen.

Sorry if I offended any dentists out there!

I will post the link after lunch, I'm out of the office right now.

Catalyst is $10 and worth every penny!

I don't remember exact size, but I want to say it was probably about 1.5 GB. (I deleted it upon testing.)

I stored it directly on the phone.

I agree. BUT I will say that this dentist is beyond nice, and she flat out said she will make sure that I am good and numb before doing anything. AND she laughed when I said I'd sooner have multiple tattoos being done at the same time before having any sort of work done.

I'm not even a dentist and I'm offended.... you could have saved yourself a metric ton of problems by starting your statement by saying

"WITH ALL DUE RESPECT"

:D

I have been to some pretty good dentists and am more OK with dental work that some, but not gonna visit them as often as is probably "recommended".

Starting with "With all do respect" just makes such discussion so much less fun for me!

Guess I am an anti-dentite! Not sure I remember that episode?

That's strange. Are you on the latest version?

I used Nexus HQ2, I think.

Yes, i have the full retail version of DVD Cat 4 with the global settings, set for Blu ray.

I have a LG Bu Ray drive that maybe the problem.
I really do not have the time now to figure this out, so I will wait until the holiday weekend to see what I can do and report back in case if someone else has a similar problem.

Thanks

The Rezound should have ICS by next year so if you like ICS and you like the Rezound and can wait a bit for software then I see no reason to stick with the Nexus, in your case.

Some people will bear the troubles of the Nexus and wait for updates and ROMs to fix it -- I know I will, but some just can't and we are not going to bash you for it. Although I will try to convince you to stay with the Nexus anyway. :)

So I am flying out to Arizona with the girlfriend on Friday to surprise her grandparents for Christmas. They have NO idea we're coming -- I am really excited for this.

Stigy, that sounds like a fun Christmas surprise. Hope you two have a ball. :)

For Christmas, if I end up with the Rezound again, I'll be happy with S-OFF and perm root. Because I'm pretty sure I'll want a stock ICS rom over whatever Sensified version HTC puts out. I could be wrong, but I doubt it. :D
