i have the esteem and was wondering will new update break root, im not rooted but i will and install titanium backup so i can stop teh phoe from updating as their are root apps that i woudl ike to use. however, if a new root will come out in a relatively short amount of time i can update and just wait.

what do you guys think? root now and stop update or wait.

also i dotn want to miss out on any of teh stuff thats in teh update, did it fix anything? :):):)

Just out of curiosity what is the version you now see in:
Settings\About Phone\Baseband Version?

I've seen no OTA update notification, but then again i'm rooted and don't have almost any of the original apps installed either.

And have you already tried the same one click root again?, small chance but might work.

how do you update 0.o what version should i be right now???

If you don't have a rebooting.problem then don't do it stay on b

^ What he said. No problems pass on it for a bit. I had no problems at all. Only reason I updated one phone was because it fixed my brick issue.

Between the 2 phones one being on B and one on C bith with no problems (reboot, etc) the only thing I can see different is #1 Boot time is quicker. #2 Root is blocked and its unrootable atm. Thats it

Can anyone with the new update post the build.prop, and even better a full filesystem dump so we can examine differences? we may be able to get updated compopents without updating, or maybe fixed config file settings etc... who knows what goodies might be in there that we can scavenge :) also, has battery life changed?

I copied the system folder in Astro and pasted it to my sd card is that all you need? I just gotta zip it up and throw it on media fire. That will take a couple. its a 225mb file.

That should be it. Believe it contains /etc and the binaries so that should be it for now. Thanks ill tear it apart when I get home :)
