i messed with the files in lib, like lib/hw and lib/modules, lib/egl, usr/keychars and usr/keylayout and a few others... also messed with the etc folder, exchanged all the files that arent in a folder with the same files in hroark's cyanogenmod. it doesnt bootloop, it restarts into recovery by itself. I think it's because of the framework files... next time i get the chance I'll post a logcat for you all to see. The kernel loads fine (using hroark's kernel in cyanogenmod).

[EDIT]
Im gonna try my hand at using apktool to edit the .jar files and the apk's to see if i can get them to work with the prevail. If u wanna try your hand at it too the download is here: http://code.google.com/p/android-apktool/
also there are references to how to edit some files here: http://www.slatedroid.com/topic/1764-editing-classesdex/
also another helpful post on xda here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=9369187&postcount=4

as i said before, good luck, im gonna try my hand at it too, see what i can come up with. Need any more help lemme know

Plans change all the time cm9 is possible but I might not do that hroaks cm7 is his work it wouldn't be right for me to do cm9 I'm trying for a custom rom that has features from miui and cm

I am kinda of debating what I should do

1. Finish the EJ06 based CM7 (BETA 35)
2. Revert to the EE14 based CM7 (BETA 2D)
3. Abandon CM7 and start working on CM9 (ICS)

I dont know how well CM9 would run on our phone, but other people with similar phones are doing it.

I am not sure how hard it would be to get it working either. I would start with my CM7 source and make the modifications as needed.

If I did decide to do CM9, I dont want to do it alone, and I dont want the ROM named hroark CM9, I would like to come up with a team name and name the ROM after that.

The type of people I would like to work with on this would have a Linux Dev system setup, and be able to compile the source code.

I would not want to release anything to the general public until the ROM is basically usable for daily use, if there are small issues to be worked out then it is called a beta.

What do you guys/gals think?

Honestly I doubt there will ever be a "finish" to cm7. I think with anything that is "unofficial" you will be bug fixing til the cows come home but that does not mean it shouldnt be done. You have brought this a long way I think if more were able to get in and fix more you could start another project but its all in how you feel I hope you take it on and succeed I unfortunately do not have enough experience, money, or in some cases time, I have 2 disabled children that take much time and effort lol.
by money I mean I can't have my phone down all the time and I dont have another nor the money to buy one.

Well vary true to that make starting finsheing projects suck and its hard to make anything stable lol but to be honest this wouldn't be a bad ideal cm9 with new features allduo this is gonna be ajcked project hints no official firmware for ics but it wouldn't be hard I'm sorry to say but this is kicking my ass team is most needed I will help

I think the most prudent thing to do is just fix the wifi issue on cm7... then run some test to see if cm9 is worth the trouble (with our 800 megahertz and all)

I have a Linux box that I use for penetration testing.. I'm sure it could be used to help with the build...

To get set up i just need to some apt-get commands I figure?

The wifi driver is dhd.ko that comes with the new kernel, that is why I was considering going back to the EE14 based beta2d with the old baseband and old kernel zImage, there was a lot less problems with getting that to work. With the new EJ06 kernel and baseband a lot of pain in the arse issues were introduced.

I wish Kouma would look and this new dhd.ko, he modded the old dhd.ko for beta2d and it worked good

Well at this point in time im am playing around with CM9 ICS

I can not get CM9 ICS to compile from source yet, I am having issues with some pmem crap

I have been able to take the Galaxy Mini CM9 ICS ROM and make mods to it to get it to boot on our phone, but it is really slow and buggy and most hardware does not work right or at all.

I am not sure if CM9 ICS can be made to run smoothe on our phone, but I want to find out. I think we meet the minimum requirements

If CM9 is not reasonable, I will finish CM7, I definatley need some help with the drivers on CM7, I need some people with programming experience to help out with the Wifi Driver and the audio driver.

Yeah, by all means work on CM9. I had no wifi problems with CM7 nor really any others for that matter. I consider it stable enough for production until you can determine the status of CM9.

Maybe Kouma well find some time to help sew up the details with CM7

Either way, I am thrilled with this so far. And of course CTMOD 2.4 will be out soon too. I got plenty of time on my hands now that I ain't working and may be able to help test.
