So I got bored the last couple of days and while I originally set out to try and figure out kernel development, I discovered that most of the guides out there to get beginners starting in developing or compiling kernels were too outdated to use. Having installed linux and gotten all my dev tools set up, I wasnt going to allow all that time to go to waste.
So I started doing a little tinkering on ROMS... started out removing bloat, then adding things like quick settings and hacked hotspot, ect. Flashed em and they worked just fine.
However, problem with that is with being rooted we can all do that without opening up the terminal. So I decided to try to port the stock 3VO rom and going from there... Its currently not booting (I learned to always make sure your port boots before spending lots of time customizing it...DOH) but I've enjoyed the challenge so far and will continue to try to figure this out.
I don't expect it to end up as a daily driver for anyone or anything like that, but we'll see where this goes over my winter break from classes.
