Help Rezound owners - how well does your phone handle 3g->4g transition and back?

I have a Galaxy Nexus, and have a 4g signal almost everywhere I go. But when I lose 4g, instead of falling back to 3g gracefully as I thought it would, it usually goes into a coma for several minutes where no data is available, and when it does come up, 3g speeds are a bit underwhelming when compared to my Droid Incredible. This is very troubling to me, because I'm not sure how this phone would handle using GPS.

For this reason, I'm thinking I'll have to stay in CDMA 3g/wifi mode and only switch to 4g when I need it. However, even when manually switching from 3g to 4g and vice versa, the same thing often (but not always) happens as I described above. I want to go on a long road trip and see how this phone handles being in 3g mode, but haven't had a chance to yet.

So I thought I'd check with Rezound and Razr owners to see how your phone handles this. Perhaps it is a problem with the Gnex, a quirk with all LTE phones, a bug in ICS that hasn't been worked out yet, or maybe I just got a lemon. I don't think I recall ever going anywhere where I didn't have some sort of signal on my Incredible, so I thought at the very least I'd have solid 3g coverage anywhere I went.

Edit: Typo fail on subject - I can't fix it. Sorry for butchering the name :) hehe

A lot of people have been complaining about the galaxy nexus signal (when I went to check it out every other 4G phone had at least 2 bars 4G and the nexus was stuck in 3G for at least an hour) the antennas in the rezound are excellent as far as transitions and overall signal so don't be worried about signal on the rezound

I've not been in the middle of a download when losing 4g yet. But leaving a 4g area into a 3g area seems to be quite graceful with the Rez. I've been working in the country and lose 4g somewhere between half way to work and when I arrive. I leave the phone on 4g all day but only get 3g for nine hours. I then drive back into 4g coverage and that's indicated on the phone. I haven't noticed leaving the phone in 4g mode all day with only 3g available to be a battery drain which is astounding to me. I manage all my waking hours on my nightly charge.. never needing a bump charge.

Stock battery. I have had excellent battery life with my Rezound. I had today off and was on wifi most all day long. I admit to very light use today but from eight AM to now.. two + AM my battery is at 68%. I did very little web browsing but I did have about a thirty minute phone call.. maybe a dozen or so texts and a half dozen emails. I'm elated.

It was a big issue with the Thunderbolt. They did some OTA updates on the TB that seemed to remedy the 3G/4G handoff issues eventually. I keep saying that the people at HTC really learned a thing or two from the Thunderbolt release. Just look at all the extra conductive material they put on the battery cover of the Rezound. It's nice to see a company improving on their product based on consumer reaction to their previous product.

I wouldn't know, I get 4g where I couldn't get 3g or even 1x hell even voice or texts on my dinc, im in the basement of a huge concrete building, i dont even get voice well enough to hold a call but 4g is working fine. The only place I have been that I dont get data is in the subbasement of my building 25 feet underground surrounded by tons of concrete, and even then there is one spot I can sneak a webpage if I'm lucky.

This phone has the best reception I have ever seen.

You say you work in the basement?!?! The red accents on the Rezound must be quite a complement to your stapler.... :p
