Help Samsung Kies doesn't work with 2.3.6 update

Windows 7: 2.3.4 worked ok, now Kies computer software constantly wants to dwnload the SG2E4GT driver. Samsumg site has no 'update' available....

Are you using the web-based Kies, or some Windows-based software from Samsung? The browser-based version works OK for me with 2.3.6 ... never tried the Windows software (I didn't think that was actually supposed to work with the E4GT).

Can't say that I've been that impressed with Kies anyway. I thought it would be a great feature for the phone, but found I just prefer a USB connection.

I need the USB connection as I don't have wi-fi for my computer (do have it for my phone however). Samsung support was no help, told to re-install the software and no update was available. Downloaded Samsung's Kies software again and immediately was notified of a 'hotfix' update released today (12/23/11) which installed. Unfortunately for me, it didn't work either. Same install driver error as before. Funny, previous phone o/s 2.3.4 release worked just fine. I uninstalled the software. Like you, I too wasn't that impressed. Looking to 'backup' everything, not just photos, music etc.
