Extended Battery Cases

Thanks guys, Anyone have a case working with the ext battery that has a kickstand??

I initially tried the Verizon kickstand case with the extended battery, and it didn't fit (not snug enough). However, I just read in another forum that someone was able to fit the kickstand case on the back by removing the back cover first.

I can confirm that with the extended battery and no back cover on the phone, the Verizon kickstand case fits perfectly. I don't have any major concerns leaving the back cover off with the case on since it covers everything just fine. The only minor concern is when you extend the kickstand, it does expose just a bit of the internals to the air.

FYI - I even tried placing the stock back cover over the extended battery (which doesn't fit very well), and the Verizon kickstand case still did not fit snugly over top of it.

This is the case that I'm referring to:

Going to try this when I get home. I squeezed the stock battery door over the ext battery and tried the kickstand case but like you said no good. Didn't even think to leave the back off.

Updated the first post for everyone. Hopefully this thread helps a lot of your out in making as choice of what case to buy.

leaving the back off seems a little iffy to me. although the case covers up everything it still seems likely for crud find way into the internals or for the battery to wiggle around in there. not sure about this phone, but on other phones there are antenna components also built into the battery door.

I couldn't leave the back off , you're exposing the internals to a lot of dust and particals. Probably won't be a problem now but it will be later down the road

What about the extended battery with the stock back ( mine won't completely close but inside a case it wouldn't matter)

I've ordered the Diztronic TPU and the Case Mate Barely There .. Both should have been here already but aren't , so I'm guessing beging of next week, I'll give them both a try with extended battery and both covers .. For now I've got the Crazy Overpriced VZW Black Silicon it works good and fits over the extended battery also adds some good grip to the phone . But for $20 with 25% it's way too expenisve for what it is .

I'm not a fan of the stock back + extended battery because of the tension, but I used it in order to take some pics with the Barely There case. They're here if you want to see a comparison. The TPU works fine with extended batter and extended cover, no problem.

I actually got my Barely there case today (my tracking info from USPS said it was still in NY this morning) if looks just like yours when applied with the extended back .

I can't even get my standard back to full close with the extended battery in 1 or 2 clips just don't clip . Honestly I'm not even a fan of the barely there case I have it on for a bit with the extended back and A it doesn't fit perfectly and b it's very slippery the combination of only fitting 90% and being slipper has accident written all over it . I'm gonna try it with the standard back tonight when I get home and see if I like it better.
I'm torn now about keeping the extended battery as it seems like the cases I actually like might not work with it.

I can now confirm the seidio case fits the GN with the extended battery and stock back works great. No other modifications are needed.

Does the Seidio case work with the extended battery and the extended battery cover? I'd prefer to not squeeze the stock cover back on make it such a tight fit pressing against the internals and screen.

cut out a thin piece of cardboard (from a folder) so it's like construction paper and I cut holes in it for the speaker. You can not see this with the case back on. So now im using extended battery, no back, VZW kickstand case and covering the battery from dust is cardboard that you can only see when the kickstand is open.

I was able to get the Verizon Kickstand case to work with Extended Battery/Standard battery cover.

Had to go extreme though. Used a lighter to heat up the plastic under the two humps that are there for pulling the kickstand out. Heated that whole general area, and with gloves on, started pushing the plastic outwards. Did this about 5 times. Go slow, and don't overheat or melt the plastic. Check fit each time, and make sure the case isnt opening up in the width direction. Mine fits perfect now.

I removed the kickstand when I stated and was going to be ok with it not ever going back on, but to my surprise, it went back on and snapped right back into place.

I would take some pics, but you can't tell really that I did anything with it.

Not really happy about it, looking for this combination from a different vendor. Wish it didnt have the kickstand, like there old models with the flat backs, then, Im sure it would fit just fine.

I have the Otterbox Defender case with the Extended battery (WITH IT'S BACK).

The case is of a very high quality. The screen protector that is built in kind of blows, but maybe I'll get used to it.... While the case fits, it isn't perfect. It takes some work to get it in and I'm not sure I feel comfortable leaving it in there forever. I will ditch this case and make my wife use it as soon as something comes out that is designed for the extended battery. It is also worth noting that this case does add some heft to the case. Coming from the Thunderbolt with a TPU style case I don't really mind. The phone isn't nearly as svelte, but it sure is safe.

The silicone case that they sell at the Verizon store also fits, but it was too "slick" for me. I saw myself dropping it rather easily. None of the Incipio cases that the Verizon store fit worth a damn. Whoever said they did... you're miracle workers.

Excellent idea there. Gonna try using a business card and see how that works. Whoa just had a flashback to BlackBerry Storm1 days when you had to use one on the back to get the touchscreen "click" to register in the corners. :)
