LG Esteem pros and cons

I am thinking of buying an LG esteem next week. Can anyone share their experience with this phone? How is the 4g connection? I heard the battery is not all that good? Do you recommend buying a second one?

4g depends on location. Battery is great with an extended battery, personally I have not had one problem with my phone. Mine doesn't lag and runs perfectly.

Cons: your PowerAMP *AND* default music player apps will have the playlists DISAPPEAR randomly (as in once every couple weeks they will be deleted). if you take hours to set it up perfectly like me (work playlist, sleep playlist, lectures, etc) you will want to blow your brains out. also, some people complain of battery life (mine is fine though...). also sometimes i get bad unlock screen lag, or ending a phone call lag.

Also another con, no CWM or custom roms yet!! Not even sure if they will come, but maybe im jsut a pessimistic cynical jerk.

We have actually been working on cwm for a few days if you dont believe it, check it out in the freenode IRC channel #lgesteem

also try using google music.

You lag issues most likely are caused by apps. If you use facebook make sure you kill that task after every use since that seems to be the main culprit of lag on these phones. i completely deleted it off of mine.

I have almost 120 mp3's on my external sd card and have never had a playlist disappear.

The LG Esteem is great the only problem that i have been having is that when i am talking to someone they hear me very low and i dont really know if it is just my LG Esteem or every LG esteem n im not sure if i should return it n get a new one or if anyone knows how to fix it

I recently bought the LG Esteem, about a week ago. And I like it. No complaints at all.. Battery could be a little better tho, in my opinion. The 4g speeds is super dooper fast. I don't even have to use wifi, at all! Just root it.. take away the bloatware, and you'll be good

CONS: Rebooting is more of a chore than it should be. Doesnt play nice with old partioned sd cards (wiped everything and now my pc wont even recognize it smh)Will lag sometimes but just use the stock apps until we get a rom (shouldnt be this way but what are you gonna do)

Overall Id give it a 6.5/10

what i love about it is when you using it, makes you forget that your Carrier is Metro, anyway the Camera & Video is great. the battery for me isn't bad at all (charge it every night). you have the opt to get an extended Battery not for me as it makes it look too bulky. 4G is also great in my area (Tampa).

Yeah most of these issues were solved last night. Got sd working and all but rebooting still takes atleast 5 mins. to get off metropcs screen
