Help Messaging (SMS) Confusion + Others

I've only had the phone for a few weeks and have loved it so far, now I'm getting to grips with it all I have a few questions.

I've started to REALLY dislike some features and am looking for some input from some more experienced users.

I uninstalled the facebook (cr)app as I was sick of looking at contacts I couldn't edit, that app isn't going anywhere near my phone again. Rubbish.

Really dislike the standard messaging client so I've installed Handcent which looks decent enough. However, I'm very confused as to why some messages just sit in my phone under the "Draft" moniker ... what on earth does this mean? If I open the messages that are labelled draft they look like all the others with a date and time, are they in fact sent or not?

To test this, I sent my mum a text, it sat in my phone as Draft (it's still labelled draft) yet she got it ... BUT instead of getting the message I sent she got a notification that there was a message for her and that she should CALL the sender?!!?? It was a plain SMS, not a multimedia message. I then sent a blank message in the same thread and she got that one fine, albeit blank.

This is very werid behaviour for a phone imho.

Also, can I uninstall the default message client and just had Handcent? Also can I put a shortcut to Handcent in the 'default apps' section at the bottom of the screen?

Would the format of the phone numbers themselves be an issue in terms of marking some as Draft and some as sent? IE they have a date and time instead of the word Draft?

Open up the draft message itself.
There will be something in it like a space or new line.
Delete all these.
Exit the message and the draft message will be gone.

Its not a bug. It recognizes a space as an entry even if you can't see it. Open a word file, put in space and then try closing the file. Word would ask if you want to save. In SGS2 case, it assumes you are making a draft and would come back later.
