Help Does flytouch 3 run gps without a internet connection

Hello,
Does the flytouch 3 need a internet connect to run gps. I'm asking because when I turn wifi off, Navigation doesn't work. It will forever say "Connecting" I am using google navigation

Thanks
Serena

It is the application google navigation that requires an internet connection to download maps 'on the fly'. So, with that application, no internet means no maps.
There are plenty of other proper navigation applications that run on the FT3 that contain maps within the program so no internet connection is required.

Try -
CoPilot Live
NDrive
Aura
NavDroid
iGo 8.4
Oziexplorer
Navitel

There are bound to be others too........

I didn't see any of these listed on the market. Is there an alternate place for download or am I doing something wrong?

Market access is not exactly sparkling on these tablets!! CoPilotLive is HERE, you can download some maps from within the software :)
Sygic aura is HERE.

Take a look at gpsunderground forum for GPS related info & files

Thanks a lot for the help and the links dart. Now I just have to get another card so I can download the us map, said I didn't have enough space.:)

I installed the copilot on my flytouch 3, but it just freezes on the loading screen. I really want to use this app.

By the way dart 16, you are a hero on this forum, very knowledgeable

Thanks quinsyr...just paying back the help I had.

Which version CoPilot are you trying? THIS one works....or rather it did work... it loads ok and you used to be able to download some maps for free from the server, but the last time I re-installed it on my tablet it told me there was a file missing so I guess CoPilot have 'fixed' it. Alternatively, you could take a look at http://gpsunderground or http://gpspassion for fully working updates....
