I dont know if this means anything but. Made me think...

bravored.jpg

This is supposedly the Desire without its back cover. See how without the back cover it's Red? I know the Bravo/Desire doesnt have the red lining around the camera lens. So is it possible this isnt the Bravo/Desire but The Incredible? (speculated as the U.S. version of the Bravo/Desire) I know this pic could be a fake. If I'm jumping the gun dont yell at me :( lol Just something that made me go hmmmm...interesting

Waitttttt JUST a second here!! Hold the... phone!! :) It just dawned on me that we very well might be looking at the finished back to the Incredible here! Follow the bouncing ball with me on this...

The following photo is of the BACK of the Desire with the back plate removed (as shown at last week's MWC):

Now here's that same back again, with back cover removed, up close:

Now HERE'S the picture as shown above in Singer82's post! NOTICE HOW THE WORD NEXT TO "HTC" HAS BEEN BLURRED OUT BUT IS THE SAME LENGTH AS THE WORD "INCREDIBLE!!!"

Exactly what I was thinking :) I'm glad I'm not the only one that got excited when I saw this. I was just browsing the Desire threads and saw this pic. The red back made my heart jump. So I looked up some pics of the desire and tried to compare. And your pic of the desires yellow inside match this red inside.

And no wonder I couldnt read the part after HTC. It ran through my mind as well that it said Incredible. I zoomed it superclose and it does look blurred out. I thought maybe it said HTC innovative not HTC Incredible on the red back. But it might say innovative towards the end on the black back. Or on the black back it could say HTC Incredible as well! Cause that word looks blurred too

I tried to open the link that this pic came from but cant. I also searched to see if I could find this pic somewhere else on the net. This is the only place I've seen this exact picture

I hope I'm right :)

Sorry guys, but I don't think we have anything at all to get excited about. We've already seen the back and front of the Incredible and we've seen a video of it. It has a dual LED flash. Sure, that picture COULD say Incredible (I zoomed and can't tell at all) but it doesn't really matter. We've seen the Incredible. Just go with me on this one. We have nothing to get excited about over that picture with the red lining under the back plate. The ACTUAL back plate of the Incredible is red, as was reported a long time ago from someone who got to see the phone in a low lit room and then weeks later from the video that we've seen and the pictures. I just don't think there's anyway that the Incredible could have changed THAT MUCH in the past month. If there was some actual real, more solid, evidence to base that assumption on, sure...I'd bite, but not from that picture. Not at all.

Not trying to rain on anyone's parade, but I'd just forget about that theory if I were you guys. I'd call it a definite no-go.

However, the main thing that concerns me is that the spot where the camera is doesn't match up in the same place as the "leaked" pictures.

http://www.letsgodigital.org/images/artikelen/681/htc-incredible.jpg

Maybe HTC - in conjunction with Verizon (as the phone had already gone to verizon's testing when this leaked picture surfaced) - put out a fake red back plate to keep the hounds (like us) off the trail?

Edit: Question for Nash - then what IS that phone in Singer82's post???

This is more than likely what the picture ORIGINALLY was. I bet someone just took it into Photoshop and quickly changed the hue of the image to make it red, just as I just did. I bet it was originally yellow like the Desire (used to be Bravo) is.

Not to mention there is a SIM card slot. Which says GSM, not CDMA. Of course, the Incredible could be a world phone, but that wouldn't explain all of the other things that just don't add up. I say we can file this one under a definite no-go for a theory.

It's a picture of the Desire that was originally yellow and someone Photoshopped it to make it red. That picture (and I read this in a post in another thread, perhaps the Desire thread, a week or so ago) came from an HTC .pdf file or something. I can't remember exactly, but it's from a brochure of the Bravo or something, which as we all know became the Desire. So, I'd say that picture was yellow and it was just a product shot of the desire. That's my best bet.

Dont feel bad Nash. You are probably right.
Something that has always bugged me though is that, that guy said it was a metallic red back. And those pics before are def not metallic, but more or a maroon/brownish red. I know that doesnt prove anything, but I have always wondered bout that statement.

No, trust me. I've photoshopped that back plate to change the color to show other people what other colors, for the Incredible, might look like. I did a black one, a blue one and one that is the New Orleans Saints gold color. While in Photoshop manipulating the image I could DEFINITELY see the metallic in the paint. It's hard to see from the images of the Incredible that we have because there wasn't really direct light on it or a flash, but the paint is definitely metallic. I know it's hard for everyone else to maybe see, but take my word for it, that red paint is metallic red and it's kinda fire engine red, not brown.

Yup, you're right. That's the exact same back plate as the Desire. :(

Now that I watch the vids yeah it does look pretty metallic. I havent seen that vid in a while. Thanks for puttin it up again

Also on the incred back pics, where are the microphone holes?
Again nash not trying to say your wrong. Just an observation

Nah man, you're cool. What do you mean by back mic holes? You mean like the Nexus One has for it's noise canceling second microphone? Well, if that's what you mean, the HTC Desire doesn't have that second microphone like the Nexus One has, so I would assume that perhaps the Incredible won't have it either. It's a great feature, from what I hear. So, I hope the Incredible DOES come with it. However, from the pictures I can't see the hole either, but then again, the pictures we have aren't all conclusive and there could totally be a hole back there and we just can't see it. Totally possible.

Oh ok. Yeah I was thinking about the noise canceling microphones. Damn phones looking so similar and ever changing code names! lol

Sorry to create a stir :( I got too excited lol.
I really dont want to end up getting the Eris or Nexus one. I was stitting at work bored waiting for a ride and saw some people online on their phones. Made me REALLY need my Incredible :(

Yeah, the Eris is a great device. I've played with it a few times at the Verizon store and it just made me drool standing there with it in my hand and imagining having pretty much the same phone with a screen that is 3.7". The Eris is a great phone, but just hang in there guys. We'll get our Incredible. It hasn't happened as soon as some of us thought, but it hasn't deterred me at all. I know the phone that I want. I know the specs that I want to be on it. So, I'll just wait till those specifications are met and then I'll be buying a phone. My next phone will be an HTC with a 3.7" screen and Sense UI. No compromises.

I don't know what you guys are smoking...

I posted that pic, it's not photoshoped Nash, if you had looked at the original .ppt (not pdf) you would see the pic and it's red. Nice theory anyway, changing backplates from yellow to red is quite the plot.

It's all moot though because the actual production version of the phone does NOT have a red inside. Slashgear has a video and they unclip the back to reveal and a plain looking grey inside. Here is a snapshot of that

desirem.jpg

The slashgear video: HTC Desire vs. Google Nexus One - SlashGear

It's entirely plausible that a red inside was originally planned since the production version of the Touch HD Mini does indeed have an odd yellow back. While I don't think the picture of a red back means anything substantial about the Incredible I think it, along with the yellow Touch HD Mini inside, does point out that HTC is not afraid of sporting bold colors on its phones.

First of all, why the need to be rude? Secondly, I haven't seen that picture of the production back until just now.

So, we're not smoking anything. Moving on...
