Root Unroot without Data Loss

I currently have HTC Thunderbolt rooted via Revolutionary, no custom ROM, just still using Stock ROM.

I haven't really been able to find a definitive answer on this question - since I was able to root my phone without any loss of data (since I didn't flash any custom ROM), is there a way for me to unroot my phone back to normal without occuring any data loss and having to re-install all my apps and settings?

This is the first time I've rooted, I'm in college and I'd rather not have to worry about having a rooted phone in case I break it and need to send it in for replacement. Thanks!

Hey adinsx welcome to AF :D

At this time there is not a way to unroot the TB without losing your data.

if you dont want to worry about OTAs and such with a rooted phone,id pretty strongly just reccomend installing the stock recovery. that way you wont have to worry about your phone going haywire if it tries to take one while you sleep.

the OTA will break your root, wich from the sounds of your post doesnt seem to be a big concern to you at the moment.

DO NOT remove your revolutionary hboot at this time. doing so may cost you the ability to re-root in the future. it will not hinder your ability to be "stock" and offers many advantages over the stock s-on hboot. cross the warranty vridge when you come to it. all you need is a computer to remove the revolutionary hboot for a warranty claim, its not that big a deal.

installing the stock recovery will not wipe any data.

+1 Scotty's suggestion, that would allow you to accept OTA updates and not lose your data unless you need to return the phone for warranty purposes.

Just an FYI:

If you have done things like remove or feeze bloatware you should be aware that those changes could cause an OTA to fail so if you are expecting to be able to accept OTA updates make sure you haven't changed anything from your /system folder.
