what do you do if you've forgotten your password and are locked out of your mobile???:thinking::thinking::thinking::eek::eek::eek::eek: PLEEEEEEASE HELP ME

Welcome to Android Forums, sgf. Sorry to see you've forgotten your password.

You haven't told us which phone you have, so we can't tell you which button-press combination it takes to get you the recovery menu in your device (which as a "factory data reset" selection), so the best option may be for you to take it to the store where you purchased it (Verizon? Sprint? .. etc) and tell them your problem. ;)

Most Android devices have a special button combination which produces access to the recovery menu, as I said. Sometimes it's a long press on either the up or down volume key while at the same time holding the power-on key, etc. It is different for each model of Android, so if you attempt without knowing exactly which combination does it, you'll likely just end up frustrated. ;)

Which Android device are you locked out of?

Hello,

Nice of you to join us here on Android Forum. As I recall your Google account(username and password) are the two main factors in resolving this type of problem. After a few failed attempt to unlock your device, you should then be prompted to enter your Google account and/or password for authentication. I hope by now you have found a way to resolved this issue. Merry Christmas. ;)

If you've entered a pattern lock (or password, for that matter) too many times, the phone should prompt you to unlock it with the credentials for the Google account to which it's registered. One caveat is that you must have a data connection enabled on the phone for this to work ... either 3G or Wifi ... so that Google's servers can authenticate the account. If you have entered the pattern but do not know the credentials or have Wifi and 3G both off, there's little to do other than a full reset.
