Hi there,

I've been lurking on these forums for a while waiting for the 2.3.3 update. I haven't done much since using the vanilla LG upgrade since my phone was working well for the most part; recently however it has developed an interesting glitch.

I tried both of your Rom's (Kalendar's .2 alpha and Jiilik .8) and I'd like to thank both of you for the hard work. If I was a developer I'd try to give you guys a hand but I don't have the skills to do so. Jiilik's rom feels much snappier than stock, mainly because of the overclock.

Unfortunately this hasn't fixed my problem...

So here goes: I have recently started to miss calls because some (not all) numbers refuse to ring. I have tried to figure out what might be causing this but have not found a common theme among the numbers (such a specific area code, blocked name or blocked number). What I have noticed however is that the calls also do not show up as "Missed Call" and when I go to my call records the numbers show up as having been picked up with a blue arrow as opposed to the red arrow for the calls which ring.

So far I have tried flashing various ROMs, wiping all the partitions from the phone through recovery, as well as setting different ringtones fro the numbers which aren't working in an effort to override default settings.

I really like this phone but unless this problem gets fixed I won't be able to continue using it. If you guys have any ideas as to what I should be trying I'm up for pretty much anything; I'm thinking that it might have something to do with the radio.img that lg flashed.

Thanks for reading this and Merry Christmas.

I'd recommend doing the 'brick restoration' instructions from the main forum. It will reflash everything to factory, including the radio. I don't think there's anything wrong with the rom(s), since they work for so many other people. My guess is that something is wrong with the radio, and it may be that flashing the new radio will fix it.

After flashing, it will be back to factory settings entirely, including the rom, fully factory, unrooted, and with the original recovery. If it still fails at this point, it is probable that you could claim warranty. Well, if you're still on telus, that is.

This is the ultimate software repair procedure for this phone. If it does not fix the problem, then you are up sh*t creek.

Hope this helps.

Hi guys,

So I've tried a couple of things and have some more technical info to report.

When I swap sim cards with another device that I have the phone works fine, or at least as far as I can test with the numbers that don't usually work. However, I had Rogers reset my profile today on their end and at this point they're pretty much convinced that it's a hardware issue.

I accessed the test menu on the phone (*#*#4636#*#*) and I have noticed that numbers which ring show a Call Status: Ringing; whereas numbers which do not ring show a Call Status: Call in Progress.

I hope that one of you guys can wrap your heads around this, it's also a bug that's been documented on a few other devices with gingerbread albeit pretty rare. As mentioned before I've already reflashed the ROM multiple times, is there anything else I can try flashing?

EDIT: Just read your response above, I'll give that a shot. Thanks.

Do you have an MD5 checksum for V20A_00.kdz by any chance?
