Root Porting Sense 2.1 onto Droid

Yes, it's very possible and it's currently being worked on over at alldroid. No downloads available yet but a dev has got it running and says it is FC'ing non stop. I imagine we will see something in a few weeks.

That's what I figured but I wasn't sure. What's FC'ing? Sorry--new to this whole phone OS stuff.

That pretty much assures me I'm going to get the Droid. I need a new phone and can't wait for the N1 to come to Verizon and I want the extra hardware boost the Droid provides over the Eris.

just to clear to this up for me...
sense UI 2.1 = only for droid eris?
soo... what does droid get w/o rooting and doing all that stuff... gett'n jealous of the eris :(

sense is put out by Htc for their phones.... and as an Eris owner I am jealous that you have root and we don't ......I for one would gladly give up Sense for root.....

After having sense for two months on my Eris I can say that it was very nice, and the way the contacts worked was great.

Looking forward to seeing this available!

+1.
I'm all for having the option of adding sense ui to my Droid. I really liked the Eris and would have never switched if I were able to root and switch roms like with the Droid.

Joe, you know all the ROM's you use are illegal also, right?

illegal? isn't the premise of android and open source based on free distribution and modification?

oh, and i'm stoked for some Flash 10.1, that is the one thing my Droid is missing.

The android OS is open source but Sense definitly isn't. And all the google apps are also closed source.

Shutting up yet another group of Droid owners that have been drooling over senseUI since the Droid was released. It's going to be very interesting to see what this forum looks like once 2.1 is released, when Flash 10.1 is released, and senseUI is illegally available for the Droid.

Then we will start asking like crazy for something else, anything new its always good ... lol
