How's the clarity of your screen with the OtterBox Defender screen protector?

Mine came in yesterday and I like the case with one exception: the screen protector is atrocious and makes the phone's beautiful screen look hideous.

The screen protector on mine has a shimmering "grainy rainbow" look to it especially on web pages or apps (such as the People app) with white backgrounds.

I took the case off and looked through the screen protector and it's definitely not very clear.

How's yours?

I just ordered some Halo clear screen protectors and plan to remove the OtterBox's built in one.

It does seem more noticeable with either black or white backgrounds, but if there's other colors its not as noticeable. But the spots from the screen cover have changed since yesterday, so I'm going to give it a few days and see if it goes away. Let me know how those Halo screen protectors work out though. I've heard that if you put a regular screen protector on and then the Otter one, you won't get the same effect as when its directly touching the screen, so you might not even have to remove the built in one.

Edit: I ended up ordering some of those Halo clear screen protectors (it was a 3 pack) too. They weren't too expensive and will hopefully solve the problem with the Otterbox screen cover.

Edit 2: I got the Halo clear screen protectors and put one on. The oily film from the Otterbox case didn't go away though, so I went with your plan and removed the Otterbox screen cover (it turned out to be pretty easy to do).

I'm still considering switching back to my cheap and less protective case (generic black TPU gel skin case) just because it allows the phone to slide in and out of my pocket more easily and it has grips on the side so it won't slip out of my hand. But then I lose the added protection from the Otterbox case. Decisions, decisions.

so i ended up getting the extended battery... and while it fits inside my diztronic TPU case.. its so snug that it presses in the volume buttons... so that ended up being a waste for me. Will wait to see if some extended battery cases come out or if anyone can recommend one that they got that fits

that sucks! im planning on getting the extended battery myself but im looking for a case that fits well with the battery.

Got my Case Mate Barely There case today...absolutely perfect for me. Very slim profile with hardly any noticeable bulk to the phone. It's actually thinner than the one on my Thunderbolt. I wish they had the black chrome color that they have for my Thunderbolt but black is just fine.

I got the Ditztronic case off of Amazon and like others, experienced the volume buttons getting pressed by the case. This happens even with the standard battery and door, not just the extended. I just took a razer blade and cut out the volume buttons like some others have done and have no problems. It fits with the extended battery and replacement door just fine.

Got a Casemate Barely There for Christmas (I requested it) so I just popped it on with my Skinomi screen protector. I like the barely there case cause its barely there and actually covers a good majority of the phone. It has a better grip then the Dizomatic TPU case. I think im gonna reorder an XO skin next time around as this one i screwed up on and got quite a few hairs under it and the some of the edges are bubbling up :(

Does it work with extended battery? How is it getting in and out of a pocket?

It is not too bad getting out of the pocket. Not too sticky. As far as the extended battery is concerned, it is doable, but I am not a big fan of how tight of a fit it is. Other people on here say that it works for them, but I am not a fan.

For anyone experiencing the volume button problem with a diztronic TPU case:

On their amazon page, an employee posted saying that anyone who has this volume button problem should email them and they'll send a replacement. I cut out the volume button on the first case, but I figured it was worth a try. Worst case, I'd have a backup case if the first one tore or something.

I got my replacement about a week later and it doesn't push the volume buttons at all, even with the extended battery.

Yeah but if you see some other reviews. It took like 3 times to get one that works "right" which seems a bit of BS. That Clay guy goes on to blame amazon for bad shipping packaging... whatever. The thing is just stupidly designed. Just cut it out like boxwave does. I had to cut mine to get it to work. If yours works now, they may have done some tweaks after getting complaints and are now sending proper ones, who know but cutting it out would just solve the issue.

spend your money on boxwave, a few extra bucks you'll be pleased (and the screen cover that comes with diztronic is junk plastic as well, not a bonus).

Im looking at the boxwave tuxedo or boxwave active, anyone have one of those and like it? Will one fit the gsm better then the other? Any help would be appreciated.

It looks like the Boxwave Active case, Boxwave Slim Rubberized case and the Seidio Surface case are all two part cases. I'm looking at getting the Slim Rubberized case but I wonder how it compares to the Seidio Surface case.
