Help Chirping/popping sound

Has anyone noticed any chirping or popping noises during a call? This has happened to me twice now. I dont know if its a defect or part of the low signal issue some people are having.

I have this same exact issue. Totally random, typically just lasts for a few seconds and then stops. I'm guessing I'll have to exchange it because it still hasn't gone away, but no verizon stores in my area have the phone in stock. Grrr

You know the popping/staticy sound that a speaker makes if you have an 1/8" connection kind of sitting in there wiggling around as you first plug it in? It's exactly the same as that. Someone had the idea of putting tape under the gap in the camera to fix it... no clue if that worked for them though [Q] Battery cover making a "popping noise" - xda-developers

I believe this was discussed in another forum where a lot of people were getting crackling noises while playing music with the screen sleeping. I fixed this by downloading SetCPU, and maxing out the lower end feq to max. and set to performance. Seemed to have to do with the GnEX ICS not allowing enough buffer size or something like that o.o/

This issue seems to plague all of Verizon LTE phones. I've seen it on the bug list for the Charge and the Bionic, so it's not just Samsung

Used to be able to recreate 100% on the several replacement Droid Charges I had, so I created this thread.... Just out of curiosity, try this:

Crackling and popping / EP4D Factory OTA - xda-developers

It was, of course the first thing I tried with the demo SGN, and the first thing I tried, in the store, with MY new SGN. All of my calls and wake from sleep have been crystal clear with no popping or crackling.

Some of the older samsungs on other other carriers have a similar issue when waking from "sleep".

So the only thing that has annoyed me in the least about this phone is the pop sound from the speaker after a sound is played. I have been patiently waiting to hear if there is a consensus on whether it is a hardware or software issue. Since most of the forums say hardware and the FAQ here says hardware, I decided to go to verizon for an exchange since it is before Jan 15th and there shouldn't be any problem for an exchange over a hardware issue. So I found the matter and explained the problem. It was the first time he had heard of the issue but he took the phone in the back room to hear what I was talking about. He then proceeded to bring out two new phones and booted both up. Both phones made the same damn pop sound a few seconds after a sound was played!

I don't deny that some people don't have the pop but this experience makes me think that it is 1. An under reported issue with the phone and 2. that it is really NOT hardware issue. I appreciated his help and left with my phone.

I've got the same issue. I've heard that it might be related to the NFC chip, but like one of the previous posts mentions, it happened on my Bionic too. Typically, Motorola has the best radios and reception IMO, so I don't think it was a hardware issue. This might be a 4G LTE issue. For what it's worth, I switched off 4G and it hasn't happened since.
