Hi there,
First off I only received my HTC Incredible S a few days before xmas and this is my first smartphone.
Anyway my question - So I'm looking to assign photos to my contacts.
* I'm not linking them nor do I intend to link them with facebook, so skip past that.
I know that they need to be stored on the phone and not the sim for photos to be assigned. (already dealt with the duplicate issue. saved all SIM contacts to an older phone (for safe keeping), then deleted all contacts from SIM card, and placed it back in the incredible S and boo-ya! no duplicates.

So if I assign a photo to a contact, if I delete that photo from the gallery will it still show up under the person who I added it to or will their picture now be blank?

and if not, is there a way to assign the 100+ photos I'm going to have, to it's own folder as opposed to having them all bunched in the one photo gallery?

Wow, lengthy post.... any help will be appreciated. :)

Welcome to AF :)

You can yes, if you mount the phone as an external drive on the PC, you can create a folder called Contacts and place all the photos you want to use in there. That way they won't show up when you're browsing through photo's you've taken with the camera.

You know you can backup your contacts to gmail too? That way they'll be available to you should you change handset. Is that an option?

are you referring to mounting as a disk drive, when you plug the USB port into the PC?
i remember my phone shows that each time I plug into my PC.
and where do I create the contacts folder? do I just save it somewhere on my PC and just drag and drop the contact photos from my phone into that folder - or is there another way?

Yeah, you just create the folder on the root of the SD Card, call it contacts, then put your pictures in there.

Are you ok with assigning a picture to a contact?

Folks, I seem to have a similar problem.....got this phone for the 13yo who wanted an iPhone...so am determined to make it work. I too figured out that contacts must be on phone not SIM for the pics to work, but I can't work out how to do this? That is, we seem to have no choice about where to save them and they are going to SIM. Where can I "switch" to saving contacts in phone? Thanks heaps!
