Galaxy Nexus Watering Hole

Hey y'all. Been here and there and haven't done any Modding yet. My computer still needs to be wiped and set up properly before I connect and mod. Looking to mod using Linux. In any case I just wanted to check in and say hi!

Wow, so since the release of the Nexus, I have been in the room that the pre release thread was in and have been wondering why none of you have been posting AND I couldn't find this thread for the life of me. I had no idea it was going to be outside the Nexus Forum, haha. We'll, better late than never. Hope you all had a nice Christmas and you're loving your phone.

I wish I did.

I'm an insurance adjuster, so I can get calls from all over for floods, fires, insert disaster here. Usually it's truck wrecks, fuel spills, fatalities, etc.

I don't get that many night calls, so about the only ones I'd turn off are those annoying "sign up now for Googles business search directory".

For some reason Timeriffic went to silent mode every night and I just couldn't get it set up right.

Daughters heading to Munich at 1100.

Maybe she'll be on a cohort's flight. Lufthansa I believe.

Thanks.

Too bad. I looked and I can't see any way for Bedside to allow all phone calls.

Munich? Luck girl. Great city. I on the other hand am "stuck" on the other side of the world. Although I'm not as good as a photographer as our friends ajdroidx and Stigy, I thought you might enjoy this GNex picture of the sunset over Tokyo from 35,000 feet. The bump on the horizon is Mount Fuji.

Although it's "only" 9:30 pm here, I've been up for umpteen hours so I'm off to bed. G'nite my friends.

I am currently trying Timeriffic, it's not working for me.

I want an app so at night I can shut off text, sms notifications, but the phone still rings.

The ability to have selective texts come in, daughter, son, etc. is a bonus.

Also, on a secondary volume issue, my phone must be the only one with fabulous volume, so I make a call at the end of the day, and turn the volume down about halfway on the rocker switch.

Unfortunately, I don't remember to crank it back up, so any further incoming barely makes a peep, because it's cranked down.

Where do I adjust that setting to turn the phone volume down a bit, but not the entire sound profile?

Thanks in advance.

Have you tried Llama? I have a night profile configured with text notifications on a low volume and the phone ringer off. I am a Skywarn coordinator and I get weather alerts from the NWS via sms but I don't need the phone ringing at night.

It works well for me, hopefully you have the same success with it.

Good morning, Nexlings!

Finally got around to watching the season finale of Homeland. I must say it definitely had it's tense and exciting moments, but the ending was a bit "meh" for me.

It's a flashable .zip....did you flash it, or just put the Galaxy-Nexus-One-S-bootanimation.zip into the /system/media folder?

I extracted just the bootanimation.zip from the /data folder (within Galaxy-Nexus-One-S-bootanimation.zip itself) then moved it to the Nexus and placed it in /data/local and it works just fine (looks pretty darn good by the way).

Thanks, it worked! I had simply renamed the zip file to "bootanimation.zip" and put it in data/local and system/media, and wondered why it wasn't working. I just read your tip and did the same.

I like it better than the stock animation!
