Seidio Shipping New Accessories

Care to elaborate on what those are? Surface and combo what.

Those are two of their popular case lines, much anticipated for any new phone.

Our SURFACE and Combo are now shipping along with our Ultimate Screen Guards!

Awesome! Can you tell us if you're going to be supporting the extended case configuration? (With the extended battery or inductive charger)

Thanks!

I've placed my order, I can't wait to ditch this Otterbox.

The Otterbox has served well, it does a great job of protecting, but it's no where near as sleek as the Seidio, and this phone really screams for the sleekness that only Seidio can provide.

just a warning, I have had 2 Seidio holsters break, one with my OG Droid, and one with my TBolt. So I ordered a spare. You may want to consider doing the same...

Can anyone elaborate on the differences between Surface and Active?

Surface is thinnest- Just hard plastic with a soft-touch feel to the outer surface. They add roughly a millimeter of thickness. They're nice, though- I had one for my DInc. One of the things I like is that they don't just clam-shell over the phone, they slide on from each end, and are very secure. Every other hard single-layer case I've had splits open when it hits the ground, so you get that initial impact protection, but then for the bounce/skid it's naked. The surface case can't do that- It stays put.

The active has an inner shock absorber layer, and an outer hard shell, and not surprisingly it's twice as thick, give or take. I'm not sure if the rubber covers the ports or not- I've never had one of these. If it covers the ports, this would be really nice, and *probably* what I'd go with.

Then the convert, when they come out with it, is neat in that it gives you the "surface" case as the interior shell, and then a silicone bumper, and an outer "exoskeleton" to hold it all together and give extra protection. With the three layers, it's quite beefy, but the fact that you can skinny it down for daily carry, and then beef it up when needed, makes it pretty handy.

I had a Seidio snap-on holster for the Incredible and it worked wonders. Now I see that you need to order a case in order to work with the snap-on holster for the Rezound. Meh, I think they did it to make more money. I prefer to use my phone naked. The Droid Incredible snap-on cover was the best, because it didn't require another case. :-( ::end rant::

I've used Seidio on all past phones. I'm sure that there are thinner cases, but none as durable. Or more durable one's, but not as thin as this one. The Surface case is a great compromise of both.

As far as the holster, this is the only one that ALWAYS stays on. Both on the thin waist band of my scrubs and my jeans. But best is the way the phone easily snaps in and out the holster, yet stays firmly attached.

Sorry for the delay! I'll try to answer all the questions in this post. Thanks to those that answered some of these questions too!

Here is a link to all our HTC Rezound accessories: seidioonline.com

The SURFACE is our thinnest case line. It's made of a durable plastic finished with our signature soft-touch coating. Cut-outs for the ports and controls make everything accessible!

The SURFACE Combo is our case along with our a spring-clip holster that accommodates the SURFACE case.

The ACTIVE is slightly thicker than the SURFACE with a inner shock absorbing layer and a hard exterior skeleton, like RottnJP described! The power button and volume controls are covered but everything else is open for easy access.

We'll have a slim extended battery for the Rezound and that will work with our current cases. Unfortunately, we won't have any inductive charging solutions or cases that work with them. I will pass along your request for one.

We don't have plans for a Spring-Clip Holster for a non-cased HTC Rezound, but I will pass along your request as well!

I ordered my Surface case the other day and I am happy to hear there will be a slim extended battery coming out. Do you know if there are any plans for a desktop dock that will work with the Rezound and Surface case?

Thanks

That's a good question, too- The OEM desktop dock is worthless, IMO.

I hope the "decision makers" will give serious thought to doing some cases for the extended back.... The extended battery seems to be quite popular- I'm hearing a lot of people say they really like the feel of it.

Has the Seidio battery issue been resolved yet?

I remember there was a big problem not too long ago with Seidio selling falsely advertised batteries that were 200-400 MAH less than what was listed.

Well, I'm not sure about the story there, but I do recall an issue with the charge indicator on the DInc not being calibrated to the extended battery output, or not reading the capacity properly, so the green light on the phone was showing prematurely.

IIRC the Seidio instructions state that for max capacity you have to leave it on the charger an hour or two longer than the green light indicator would suggest. I did that with my DInc, and it worked.

AAHHHHH! Seidio goodness! I received my Surface case and holster today. Now my Rezound is sleek and smooth! So much better than that chunky Otterbox!

Were you using the Defender series? I just ordered (have yet to receive) the Commuter which I got because it was slimmer. I may have to consider returning it and getting a Surface from Seido.

If I end up keeping the Otterbox Commuter...I wonder if Seido's slim extended battery would also fit that or just their line of cases? Any ETA on when the battery will be available?

On a sidenote, I totally wish I saw this thread last night before I purchased the Otterbox and an OEM battery....now I feel like returning both!

We list the mAh of our batteries based on our manufacturing and testing of cells. As RottnJP mentioned, we recommend proper conditioning of the battery.

Aries859, unfortunately I don't know of any desktop cradles that would work without taking our SURFACE off. I apologize about that! If I see anything, I'll let you know.

Well that is what I figured, but thanks for answering. Any news on when the slim extended battery will be available or what the MaH will be?

I have always used the Seidio slim case and holster on all of my phones, but for my Thunderbolt I got the slim case combo for the 2750mAh extended battery. Will that also be available for the Rezound? I have three 2750 extended batteries for my TBolt that work fine in the Rezound and would prefer a case that will work with them.

I got a similar HTC case when I got the Rezound, but the belt clip doesn't catch the bottom of my wide belts like the Seidio's do.

Thanks

No that wasn't the issue.

There have been significant tests and reports of Seidio having falsy advertised batteries.
