I am about to pick up my first tablet, Transformer Prime, and so i hit the market to see what fun stuff i can look forward to ... cant find a tablet section

Maybe its only available for me to see if i access the app market on a tablet?

So i hit Google and 2 different forums .. the only sort of list i could find had about 150 apps. That cant be right, can it?

According to this page, iPad has 140,000 apps just for the ipad alone:
Apple - iPad 2 - Over 140,000 apps. Ready and waiting.

Can we really have less than 1,000?

I know numbers are worthless and most of those apps are garbage ... but still, id like to use my tablet for more than just email and web browsing.

Any insight?

There is a tablet only section that is viewable from the tablet market. But I don't see why it matters? Most apps that work with phones also work with tablets.

I also think that iPad app number is a bit padded. From talking with people who both have iPhones and iPads, if you install an iPhone app on an iPad, it's resolution difference makes the app really blurry on the iPad. So a specific version for the iPad has to be developed. Where Android just scales the resolution properly.

i only bothered looking into this because a family member on my facebook page mentioned her favorite android phone app (Frozen Bubble) loaded on her tablet, but it looks like absolute garbage. All the little balls are grainy and pixelated.

So i went on the market to see what sort of alternative there was that might be tablet-optimized for her.

Odd...is her phone a high-resolution phone? Like qHD or something in that ball park? I might not notice a difference between apps on my phone and my tab because the resolution is similar.

her phone is a droid incredible (the first one)

her tablet is a TF101 transformer (not the prime)

she went to Market and found her game Frozen Bubbles, loaded it and opened it ... it filled the screen and looked TERRIBLE.

She did say if she turned the tablet to landscape, the app shrunk and looked more normal. But held in portrait the tablet tried to stretch the entire game and it really showed.
