so should i do a factory reset then. the directions are kind of hard for me to understand because you have to look at 2 or 3 different post to get everything.

Boot into CWM
wipe data/Factory Reset
install zip from sdcard
choose zip from sdcard
cm7_HROARK_3.5beta.zip or something to that effect
choose again
let run

install hotfix2 the same way amd reboot

Go to voice dial and say " apn " then open and touch boost if it shows or apn manager
It should turn green. And reboot phone. But from page 20 post 1 remember to extract file to sd
card. Media scanner will find apn. That should do it.
I had hell at first but it worked. make sure you have apn manager in sd card!
yeah i did that
just did it again just to confirm.. didn't work. still cant send or recieve mms

opened apn manager
chose boost from the apn list
rebooted phone
opened apn manager
restored apn from horark's file as instructed

Hroark put a link in one post where you extract a file to sd card but I don't know where that post is.

Sorry, but can't figure out how to save configuration to SD or what it accomplishes. Maybe i can find it reading from windows. I have read the entire thread from PHANDROD but do not understand page 20 post 1. Sorry for my ignorance.

After a reboot I still see boost checked in APN. I assume this is good.

Reading this thread took a while but it was interesting. Just have not had time with work and holidays. I see that most of my issues have already been answered.

I would also suggest that everyone spend some time on the CM site. This ROM has to many tweaks it is probably a good idea to leave them alone until you understand them. This is still beta but pretty damn good.

The suggestion to change the performance setting to on demand sounds like a good one. I am going to see if it helps battery life.

Mr. Roarke suggested keeping a CWM backup of CTMOD 2.3 to fall back on in a pinch. I was able to update PRL from that ROM. Since it is EXT4 and EJ06 it seems like an fast easy way to update PRLs or access hidden menu without going all the way back to stock with ODIN. Please correct any errors in this suggestion as I have not tried it and do not change PRLs very often.

This is also an excellent reason to try CTMOD 2.3 before attempting CYANOGEN 7.1 since it is so similar regarding partition formats and modems.

As much as I love A2SD, I switched to S2E. I see no need for both.

I suspect that this ROM has enough tweaks once we understand them to not fool around with scripts. At least not while in BETA. If they are needed maybe they can be incorporated in a future release once we know which one is the best.

I found that the built in screenshot is handy for making notes of things to try while reading PHANDROD.

I do prefer QuickPic but I will use gallery if someone explains any advantages. Of course not on this thread unless it is because of CM 7.1

Swype Beta is essential for me to use this phone. Did this post using it. I rarely turn on my laptop after I get home from work now. I never would have thought that would happen. An old dog can learn new tricks. I know this stuff is old hat to most of you guys, but it is damn amazing to me.

Got some Android books on my Kindle app. Maybe I should read them.

There is no going back now. I fell in love with SHABBYMOD, CWM, GB, CTMOD, and now CM 7.1

I cannot thank you enough Mr. ROARK. And, of course, the whole team of usual suspects.

It just keeps getting better every day.

Sorry for rambling on and getting off the thread topic. People like me that do that are the main reason this thread is so long and takes hours to read.

how did anyone get netflix to work

It works. Very good on fast WIFI. Even works on my slow 3g at home but varies in quality and audio sync. Have not had much opportunity to try it from a fast 3g área but the little that I have tried was good.

I just downloaded it from the Market.

EDIT
Never mind genius, Sorry that i did not check before posting. I see that you already know this from reading another thread.

It ain't perfect, but it is pretty damn good for a cheap phone @ $45/month And $8/Month for Netflix. It does run much better than it once did. The Prevail was not even supported at first. Maybe it will get better. You just might be the guy who figures it out.

I just got CM7, so I'm trying to restore all my backups now, and I just have a quick question about restoring: How can I restore the Clockworkmod backup I created before I installed CM7?
Go back to CWM and select restore instead of backup. Clockworkmod makes an image of your entire system. settings and all. at the point you backed up. and it stores it in a file on your sdcard called clockworkmod. it is not for restoring apps. before you flash something you actually wanna make two backups.
1.) backup all your user apps with an app like titanium Backup (also stores on your sdcard)
2.) a CWM backup(also called a NANDROID backup) of you entire system in case something goes wrong with whatever you are flashing you can just flash back to before

after you flash a rom like CM7 you can redownload Titanium backup and use it to restore all your user apps.

If you dont want to use CM7 anymore you would use clockworkmod to go back to whatever you had before you flashed CM7
you would not use it to restore anything inside CM7

I hope this is what you were asking:D

@ mavrikmeercat: Thank you! I'm having some problems trying to get Titanium to load my backup zip file so I can restore everything. But I'll keep playing with it and see if I can figure it out.
I have another issue with my Google accounts. Not sure if its related to CM7, but I've never had this problem before. I was able sign into one Google account but when I try to sign into the second, it keeps saying there's a problem with the sign in. I'm positive I'm entering the correct password. I've triple checked by logging in on my computer.
So if anyone knows what I could do to fix this issue, I'd really appreciate it!

Thanks!

EDIT:
To restore my Titanium backup zip file, can I use CWM to install the zip from my SD card?
