Post Your Triumphant Screenshots

Lol sorry I totally spaced on who the poster was, I should never do forum stuff before the second cup of coffee.
Yeah, that Screenshot app is the one I've used. I have it set to high quality png, most shots look great. ShootMe was awesome, also taken off the market - I don't have the app and never backed it up - it was free, perhaps you could find someone to share one or the other you mentioned.

You're on CM7 or something else? The only thing that comes to mind further is whether you're using a Live Wallpaper app like MiulitPicture Live Wallpaper or Super Wall Lite - both free on the market - both tend to brighten colors and kill gradient banding, which is why I use them and never use the native wallpaper function on stock or CM7. MIUI native wallpaper is very good, but even that will fail on a heavy gradient. MultiPicture lets you have a separate pic for every screen, Super Wall lets you use a panoramic/extra wide pic to span several screens.

I can't remember if Android SDK screen capture was good on CM7, it doesn't work on MIUI (orange issues you mentioned) the one time I tried it.

Yeah, I'm using the native wallpaper "app" on CM7. I'll try using the SDk to capture when I get around to installing it and the Java Dev kit. Thanks though!

I thought I would share where I'm at on the SOA theme to date. I'd like to make the Min Text widget more snazzy, as well as style some background images/walls/menus beyond what I have thus far. As you can see, I'm slow out of the gate - most of the work has been on icons and the clock/music widgets. I have decided against styling the notification bar (the default white with transparency rocks my boat on this layout), undecided about theming the pull down menu of toggles (it would be nice to figure out). I'm satisfied with this so far...but I've hit a major road block on the dialer/sms interfaces - two things I'm somewhat determined to theme in order to call it a day: 9 patch pngs.
After endless searching, I finally hit two youtube videos, both of which imply that I need to have the adb and eclipse environments setup to do 9 patch png editing for themes. I am a bit lost, since I've only ever used the Android sdk environment to do screen caps. Sad, I know, to imagine that all the minor theme work I've done so far (MIUI locks) I did the very old fashioned way - editing the mtz, and reloading it to my phone with each change. So, so, sad.
So I guess I need to get acquainted with the real way to theme in eclipse (?) and setting up the eclipse/adb paths and environments. Hopefully I'll be able to figure it out soon lol. Any tips, links, tuts would be appreciated - I'm eager to finish this one off. Critique and suggestions for improvement are also welcome. TIA :)

From my experience regarding the .9.png files when I was learning how to do that crappy pink and black theme that I played with, all I had to do was decompile the apk using apktool/apkmanager.

Once decompiled, if you look at the .9.png files in an image editor (I use Paint Shop Pro X4 (not free) and Pixelformer (very basic but freeware - google for it))--although I'm sure you already have a much better image editor than me :), you'll see that there's a thin border with handles around the edge. As long as you don't mess with the handles, you can edit the png file just fine. You then just need to recompile the apk to get the 9.png file to be formatted properly again so it shows up ok--if you don't recompile and just throw the 9.png file into the .apk, it looks weird.

oh for editing .9 patch png's use "gimp 2.x.x" it will let you edit them without decompiling, so you dont have to worry about messing up the edges on .9 patches. (info provided by b_randon14)

Here are a few of my recent works, im running cm7, over clocked, running 2986 on quadrant standard, i have go widget task manager (themed), clockq widget, icons are from Genix theme for go launcher, app drawer backdrop is from dream digital theme for go launcher, stock cm7 options on the lockscreen. that pretty much sums it up i guess

I sorted it - wasn't too hard, found the xtreme 9path compiling tool very easy once you settle on the design, can do 'em all at once. That's great info on gimp, I will have to try that method too! Now if only miui would put their theme guide back up - after they redid their site, the map of all theme images is missing :( http://www.miui.com/themeguider.html been down for days!

I prefer not to do a whole ton to my setup, I think it looks great as is.

This triumph is running CyanogenMod7 (Trickerguy Edition), with an Ice Cream Sandwich theme and running the live wallpaper in market. The lockscreen is controlled by MiLocker now available in market.

I am thinking about moving to MIUI, but not quite sure, anybody running it? if so, thoughts?
