Tablet suggestions.

Hello all, I'm in the market for an Android tablet and was looking for some suggestions.

I'm looking for one with a 7" screen and in the $250 range(though might be willing to pay a little more for a really good one) with the following features:

-At least Android 2.3(though 3.0/3.2 prefered)
-Wi-fi(But I think thats standard on pretty much all android tablets)
-Bluetooth
-Able to take standard or micro SD cards
-GPS
-The higher the screen resolution, the better
-A 3.5mm headphone jack
-Would prefer physical volume buttons
-At least 512mb of RAM
-At least an 800hmz processor
-4~5 hour battery life

The main purpose of the tablet will be as an MP3 player, navigation and engine monitoring system for use in my car.

Right now at the top of my list is the Acer Iconia A100, as it fills all those requirements and then some, and the poor viewing angle isn't a problem. The only issue is the conflicting reports about the GPS, and while I can use my phone as a hotspot, I'd prefer not to as I often drive into areas with no data coverage, so I'd need a GPS that can function with an offline navigation app without a net connection.

Yes, I could, and I already have a TomTom GPS. However the point is to have one device instead of several scattered over my dashboard. I also only have one 12v outlet, so I can either power my GPS, my MP3 player, my phone, or my car topper(I deliver pizzas), not all at once, and the battery in my GPS barely lasts an hour.

But I'm not here to argue the pros and cons of a stand alone GPS unit, just simply wanted suggestions on a good tablet with the features I stated. :)

I'm thinking about a Veiwsonic gTablet. It's a little less known and older teb, but (mostly when rooted and flashed) is on par or even surpasses current tabs and 'pads'. A few things it has are 1ghz Nvidia daul core (one for system and one for the graphics; similar to the ipad) and can be overclocked to 1.4ghz. HD 10.1" screen, and HDMI output. 512mb ram, 16gb internal mem. Micro sd slot. USB. and full USB host. and front facing camera. though, i'm not sure if it has GPS or not, I wasn't really concerned. It runs for $269 on Amazon, but could probably be found for less elsewhere.

Those specs sound pretty good, though I'm looking for a 7" tablet, 10" is a bit big for my needs. Thanks though. :)

I am pretty much in the same boat as you...

Have you decided on one?

I am considering:
- Kindle Fire
- Archos 80 G9

I keep revisiting the Fire, but would prefer one I don't have to root ... though that doesn't bother me all that much. Would also like one that has enough specs to handle ICS eventually...

Any other suggestions?

I've decided to go with the Acer A100, found a store with a few instock and drove down to pick one up about a week ago. So far it's been pretty good, aside from the usual complaints(poor viewing angle and battery life could be better). Acer is supposedly going to release an ICS update for the A100, but even if they don't I'm sure a custom ROM will be released for it.

Looked at that one too.

I am now leaning towards a used Asus Transformer, or depending on cost a Acer A100 as well, the A500, or the soon to come out A200.
