Experienced any problems with the ZTE warp?

I have a problem with renting movies on the market. I can buy music, however. When I go to rent a movie, I can look at them, rent them. But when I go to watch it-I get a message that my phone appears to be rooted and rentals are not allowed. It then offers my an option to get a refund on my rental. Anyone else have this problem or know what is wrong??

I have the same problem. I got a refund from Google for the movie I rented and told them my phone is not rooted and that they need to fix this problem. I haven't tried Netflix yet because I let my account with them lapse. I wonder if Netflix works. I know Crackle.com doesn't. I tried downloading some program that knoxville recommended to download movies but it didn't work on my computer. I'm stuck with YouTube and the Smithsonian Channel app for viewing entertainment on my Warp.

The netflix app works great on this phone with a wifi connection.

I am new to this forum, and I recently bought the ZTE Warp and had a problem with the screen freezing or not being able to recover from sleep mode and the red light staying on. I realized that every time it happened I had the WiFi on. Once I disconnected the WiFi it hasn't happened since. So whenever I use WiFi, after use, I disconnect immediatley.

I actually suspected my wifi as well, I had downloaded
a wifi widget and kept having problems terminating my
Wifi.... had another lockup as well after a clean install of
The new firmware....could also have been weatherbug
which I had installed once again after the clean install

After a day or two with the update, I'm still having problems with the phone rebooting on its own, especially when I'm playing a game, a couple times a day. My phone also gets warm both when recharging, and while I'm using it.
I've come to the conclusion that I got what I paid for, so I'm not gonna gripe too loudly. I can't expect this phone to act/be like a $600 phone on Verizon. It's a pre-paid Boost phone from a company in China. For the price/service, it's not bad. I just wouldn't make the same time choice if I had it to do all over again. I like dependable & reliable products and service. This is not it.

I'm assuming this is a problem with Boost service and not the Warp, but lately I haven't been getting texts at all. I'll reboot the phone and they'll all come pouring in. This has happened pretty frequently. Then today I've rebooted 3 times and they're still not coming in. I've gotten emails from 4 people saying they tried to text me but I didn't answer. Does anyone know if this is a problem with Boost with other phones as well? I live and work in the middle of Los Angeles so the problem isn't lack of cell towers.

In my opinion it's not a Boost/Sprint problem, it's a ZTE problem, this phone is only about 2 months old, there is a firmware update, which updates you from 06 to 08 version, you may want to install it, that's if you haven't already... also document the apps you install and go from there... also you may want to install apps a few at a time, some apps aren't Warp happy... in my case the lockup issues are when the screen turns off, I remembered I had selected the option for my WiFi to turn off when the screen goes dark, that may have been the problem all along, I now have to wait and allow time to go by...

btw, right now I am keeping my phone on 3G...

Yeah, I installed the update and wiped all my apps and only reloaded the necessary ones to see if it helped with the freezing and the random crashes. So far it hasn't -- it'll reboot by itself in the middle of browsing the Google News homepage or something equally tame. No games, no music, no volume equalizers or anything. I think it's just a bad bug they didn't fix before putting it on the market. The backlogged text thing has been happening since the beginning, although it's gotten much worse and more frequent lately, and rebooting/removing the battery doesn't help. But since I'm basically broke and can't afford to replace the phone or spend more for a monthly plan, I guess I'll deal with it. Like the other guy said, unfortunately we got what we paid for. I'm not trashing the device -- it's really fast and fun. When it works. :D

I have to disagree with the 'lowered expectations' approach.
Certainly if you are talking about cpu, display, speed, etc, I wouldn't expect the warp to match a razr, nexus, et al.
But I think I have a right to expect a $200 phone to NOT shut down randomly and daily. And I expect the company that sold me the phone to stand behind their product.

Nice! I just switched mine to that setting too. We'll see if that helps. I don't know what to do about my texts not coming through until 11:30 at night but I guess I'll focus on one issue at a time. :) I don't wanna give up on it either -- I love this phone in spite of the issues!

I just had this problem.... powered down and on reboot got a crap load of text...local time was 10:45pm pacific....hmm, what gives....

*EDIT*
Looks like it might be a Sprint issue, did a quick search and other Sprint customers are having similar issues with delayed text messages....

Did some digging of my own.

If these lost messages are from friends who are NOT on the Boost/Sprint network follow the steps outlined by abe2020 in THIS post found on the Sprint Community boards.

Well since disabling the "turn off WiFi feature when screen goes dark"and my last voluntarily reboot, I have not had any issues with my Warp locking up... everything I had done prior to disabling my Wifi Feature had done nothing... a few days ago I was going to make an emergency call for fire rescue after an accident on the highway and being the second person to pull over and offer my help, wouldn't you know it my phone had a solid red light and had locked up... luckily the first car that pulled over was already on the phone with fire rescue... in these cases every second counts, not to mention damn fire rescue took 12 minutes to respond, so did the Highway patrol...

Back to the damn phone, lol.. I actually like this phone, hopefully a permanent fix without having to go through a process of elimination the next time it decides to ***** out... I also installed "fast reboot" 36 hours ago, which I like a lot better than task killer...

That's what scares me the most about this phone; locking up and/or rebooting at a crucial moment. I have had it to reboot at a time when I was needing to make an important call.

This is very helpfull, thanks ! I confirm, not using wifi since my last post and zero lockups / freezes. Luckily I have very good 3G coverage where I live so I almost never use wifi anymore. I also installed battery doctor and this has helped to increase battery life too.
