Jeez, you would think with all the problem threads here that all Gnex's would have been returned. I for one, am very satisfied with my phone! The screen is AMAZING compared to my old EVO! The only issues I've had with my phone are quiet notifications and ringtones. Everything else works just fine. I plan on keeping my and I won't be rooting it either. (rooted and installed MIUI on my EVO and it turned my beloved EVO into something I wanted to throw at the wall MANY times).

So checkin here if you are happy with your purchase!

I love the phone. I do have a problem with it tho. I have the screen banding problem that I need to find a corporate store to look at it and replace it. I had 2 people look at it and they noticed it to so its not me. The question is; is it software or a hardware defect? I know its not me because 2 other people noticed it too. You can see it when there is a white background or grey background.

It doesn't really bother me but my concern is if it is a defect it will likely get worst over time.

But ya other than that one problem it's a fantastic phone.

Definitely keeping it. I literally don't have one complaint yet that won't be addressed either by the dev community or by Google with updates. BIG THING THOUGH, you need to understand before you buy that even the Nexus not on the "official" version of Ice Cream Sandwich yet, so there are bugs (albeit all I've seen are small) and you shouldn't expect it to be flawless yet.

Nope. Email stinks. Not asking for much...Just an app that holds all my emails (as opposed to the resident app that comes with the phone), one that supports searching (as opposed to K-9), and with a normal view of emails (as opposed to gmail). Until this phone supports a normal email experience it's a no-go. Not a business tool.

Been through 5 email apps in the last two weeks. It amazes me that something as basic as reasonable email functionality isn't addressed before introducing this "ground breaking" device. I've never been an Apple guy, ever. But was at lunch yesterday with some friends and I must admit the 4S is a better device. 4G be dammed. Oh well.

Keeping it for sure. And I'm coming from the supposedly better Rezound that I had to return twice, first for a hardware failure (overheating) and the second for a QC issue. Can you imagine your red capacitive button lights flickering like a dying light bulb whenever you turned your phone on? Ugh, just a %$#!@ sloppy build, HTC.

Anyway, I have no hardware issues with my first Nexus. It's been perfect for me, including 4G signal/reception. In the past 6 months I've been through a Samsung Focus (great OS but lacking in apps and phone features), a 4S (***tty battery life and no 4G) , 2 Rezounds, and now a Nexus, and I think I've finally found a keeper in the GN.

So you did not research this before forking over 300 for a phone? I know that would be one of the first things I would check out if that is what I needed in a phone. Maybe that is just me though...

HTC seems to have a lot of QC issues with their phones. I know the EVO and thunderbolt(which I had to get exchanged 5 times for QC issues) seemed to have lots of issues( screens coming up, power button sinking, etc) those are things that should not get through like they did.

I`m keeping my for sure, actually I havn`t had any problems with my phone at all, it works great, I use Gmail for my personal email, I do have a work email address, but I keep my work and personal life separate, no issues with signal problem, only thing I have not used yet is the 4g, so I have no comment on that, battery life has been great, no over heating, my takes great pictures, I have no complaints about my Nexus:D

No Premium1, I didn't check that out before I bought it. But I also didn't check to make sure this phone could be used to make phone calls either. But that's just me.

Basic email functionality should be a given, not a "check and make sure" item. Please.

Lol you do realize that this has been a complaint on stock Android since the beginning and 5 minutes on a forum would have told you this right? Email works great for my needs.

Yeah Zerocool, I sure see those posts now. Unfortunately I was dooped on that specific issue, as my wife has a Droid HTC Incredible II, and that has this search button that works seamlessly with her yahoo mail. In retrospect, having seen how that's a perfectly acceptable methodology, I incorrectly checked that off my "Must Have" list. Also, it just seems so intuitive that this type of functionality should be present in all email applications. Especially coming from King Google. Boy was I wrong.

On that note, and also now knowing how pervasive this conversation has been, Google shoving Conversation Mode down mobile gmail users' throats is really a site to behold.
