there are so many different OC kernels out there I figure it would be good to have a poll to see which is everyone's favorite, not roms but actual OC kernels. Also when I mean fastest I dont mean highest ghz but fastest at the same clock speed

TBH, though, the most stable kernel I ever used (and including speediness) was the evilBoot1300, which I kept at 1100....

I go the lowest benchmarks on it, but I now realize that those were not fair benchmarks (as in not real world) - b/c I used to kill apps b/c benching.

Only now do I bench with everything running - so I am always a bit slower than most b/c of many things running as services and / or startups....

evilBoot1300 eh...? I never heard of it, I just picked really well known ones to me and stock which everyone knows lol. I am currently running the droidmod one but am reserving my vote til I try more out

They are old kernels that were around at AD back in Jan....

I also haven't voted. So far, I've only managed to be stable at 1.1ghz w/ any of the BB roms. W/ 7.6 and 7.7 I was able to use 1.2 for the most part, but it would random restart more than my liking, and would also run a bit warm. Never an issue w/ 1.1.

Yeah, I haven't tried the different kernels with different ROMs either - most of my experiences have been with Pete's Bugless series....

What about taz's kernels?

I think I might have use that on BB 0.7.5 - pretty damn stable that one was - but it was only that one time....

But currently, I'm running Chevy's 1.25GHz on Pete's 2.1 BB v0.4, and it's stable at 1.25, but even better, lets me downclock my standby to 400/250.

I installed that kernel over 2.1 v0.4 and my phone wouldn't boot correctly. It just got stuck at the Motorola symbol and kept boot cycling until I pulled the battery and did a nandroid restore back to 2.1 v0.1

That's your phone, not liking 1.25GHz. You may want to try a kernel limited to 1GHz. That may be more stable for you.

t3hsteve's kernel was the most stable and fastest one I've used. Right now I'm using the Droidmod kernel with Pete's Beast 1.1. I tried Chevy's kernel but it was terrible, crashing left and right, freezing and force closes unless I clocked it down to 800. 1100 runs fine with Droidmod and ran better with 7.6 and t3hsteve's kernel. I might go back to an old nandroid backup.

dont know if it affect everyyone but basically say you set your charging profile for 600 when you charge your phone with the wall charger it wont go to 600 it will stay at what u were or 800 i think..but if you charge with the pc then it works fine alot of people are experiencing this and i have it solved by installing adamz kernel over droidmod

interesting, well I dont have a charging profile so I am good with droidmod lol. I noticed the droidmod kernel has compcache or at least says it does in the name, can anyone tell me what that actually is/how it effects the speed?
