Help Samsung Galaxy Ace Battery Drains faster..

New Galaxy ace - battery lasts about 8 hours with limited use. I complained to retailer who sent out a new battery.

I was charged to full the other day at 10:00, I made no calls, did no texts, but read email several times in the day (probably 1 hour in total) - No other activity on phone, GPS and WLAN were switched off.

Battery dies at 7 p.m. - i.e it lasted the grand total of 9 hours and had done next to nothing.

I cannot believe how bad the battery life is - makes the phone pretty much unusable for me. I have just downloaded the Juicedefender as recommended (thanks) so will see if this helps, otherwise I'll have to return the 'phone as not fit for purpose.

Just bought ace 2 days back not at all happy with the battery back up using juice defender ultimate but not any noticable improvement and have disabled everything except internet still lasts about 3hours only

so i have one question members that is a high capacity battery like 2100 mah really worth buying. If anyone is using the same can they tell does the higher cap battery available in the stores which is compatible with ace without giving any trouble whatsoever.

Thanks

2 DAYS...COME ON.....!! ;) Give it a chance. Have you read the MANY posts on here & other forums about the battery, any battery, on an android smartphone? Let it get used to your charging/usage cycles & only use 3G/wifi/GPS/sync when you need it & you will see a huge improvement in a couple of weeks. All smartphones use battery. I now get 1.5-3 days easy depending on use. Be patient, you won't be sorry. :) GrahamF. London.

looks like i'm not the only one having problems with the battery. i charged mine (3 days old) this morning. i use a battery widget from geekyouup to check batt stat. it's 100% when i downloaded an app from the market. after installation it went down to 95%. after receiving and sending five SMS it went down to 91%.

however, i notice that it reduces battery slowly when percentage is lower. guess it just doesnt want to stay at 90 to 100%. with battery at 17%, i was able to surf the web for more than an hour. it became 13%. ;)

Daily i only text and use maybe 30 minutes worth of internet so i'm expecting my battery life to be fairly decent, i have the gingerbread software so im guessing that will help battery life too? so i've heard anyway.

All in all after a day of owning it im very impressed but i do know ALL android phones have bad battery life aslong as it can get me from around 7.30am till midnight i'll be happy

I only got this phone 1 day ago and like you i've been using it a lot so my battery has run low after 1 and half hours to 2 hours of use. its also my first smartphone so im not sure if this is normal can sme 1 plz reply ty

Follow this and you will be happy

Let your phone battery discharge completely one time i.e shut down and then charge it too full 100%.

Give your phone battery atleast one month time for it give proper results and follow every tip bellow

And also until and unless it shows battery charged symbol which generally comes after 45 minutes after your battery widget shows 100% don't stop charging it.

Use smart apps like use opera mobile instead of default internet browser as it uses less battery etc.

Only use internet, wifi, bluetooth, gps when required not keep it on for 24hours use app like battery defender for it disconnects internet as your screen turns off you can avoid that for some apps like internet by adding it to whitelist and setting a timeout.

Reducescreen brightness to minimum, timeout time to 15sec

And you will easily get about 18 hours battery backup.

Do thank if it helped.

Don't forget to completely discharge your battery 1-2 times.

I have had my Ace for 3 weeks now and have to admit the battery life is abysmal. Last night going to work, after phone had been on charge all day, I plugged it into the car to use an app on the drive to work (1 hour). When I got there I realised I had left the charger at home but thought it would be ok. By about midnight a little voice was telling me that the battery was low!!! WHAT!!

The problem is that the phones do more and more and are used less as an actual phone, but the power technology is very sadly lacking.

Hello guys, ive registered only to make this post to help you out and please share it with others if it helps you.
I've found that sometimes my battery discharging very fast, it can happen after programs installed or uninstalled. So when i see my battery dies fast, im doing Turn off and turn on of device. It stops eating battery. I think our device have some issues and something put it in neverending memory or processor usage loop.
Oh and when SDCARD mounted or dismounted. This what i call it "loop" happens too.

Mt phone was sitting in the kitchen unused and the battery drained, no screen on and nothing happening. It stays off now when not in use.

Hi, I presume you are turning 3G off when you are not using it & when on standby?? That is the biggest drain on battery life & makes a huge difference. Also, weather widgets & any social networking apps constantly looking for messages etc... My battery lasts 2-3 days with average use & up to 4 days when I go abroad & never use 3G or wifi!! I'm on stock Froyo 2.2.1, with no battery or task apps installed. Try it. Graham.:)

I have sat nav (work necessity) and HUD, plus others but they are rarely used and always switched off after use. WiFi is always off, using data for the net. I have Kaspersky Mobile. Google skymap, Google translate, opera mobile browser, Astro file manager. In setting Battery use I have: Call standby: 32%; Bluetooth 32%, Phone idle 23% and display 14%. Deleted Facebook and a couple of unnecessary apps (tried and died). Battery symbol shows full but time left says 27 minutes 32 seconds. I always have screen off when not actually in use.

Hi, I just saw a separate post by you regarding KIES. I noticed that you seem to be charging your Ace through your pc, yes?? This 'could' be your whole battery-life problem. This method does not fully charge your battery, even if it says it has! Do you ever charge the phone via the wall plug charger, up to the blue battery icon & tone saying 100%?? Graham.

I bought ACE on DEC 27(carphonewarehouse, 3UK) & was disappointed due to the battery issue. But I love the phone. I was dying to increase the battery life, did a lot of experiment. Lastly hope its working. I disabled 3G from the bios (*#*#4636#*#*) of the phone (lolz). Installed juice defender and android booster & running them all the time. Its almost 18Hrs with normal use (1.5hrs of display and 40mins of wifi) and AlhamduliALLAH still 74% left. U ppl can try. Best of luck n wish me luck. Cheers.
