No I see similarities too, of course there are similarities, BUT you can't sue over a "similarities"
If that was the case then no company would ever want to come out with new products. All products have similarities, it's just a matter of where you draw the line. My car has similarities to your car, and I don't even need to know what kind of car you own 
I don't know if that's fact or just wishful thinking on the part of some Apple haters. It couldn't have been any worse than the Nokia POS that I used to own. I'll never buy another Nokia phone again because of it. All I know is that every Apple product that I've ever owned was designed much better than other products in the same category. The materials used were also of higher grade. I'd be surprised if the iPhone 4 was any different. I used to want a iPhone but not anymore. With the release of the Samsung Galaxy S II I no longer care about the iPhone. Basically because the screen on the Galaxy S II is better and the processor is better, but you just gotta know that the iPhone 5 is going to blow the Samsung product out of the water when it comes out, and then the year after that the iPhone 5 will be blown out of the water by someone else, and so on and so on. Most people use a screen protector and a case with their phone so this issue doesn't matter anyway

No it wasn't, it was because samsung violated design rights. The law is very specific about design rights. A "similarity" is not
REALLY?! What shape does Apple propose be used, circular? Phones certainly had this shape before (Motorola Slvr comes to mind, I had one).

Thanks I agree. Personally I wish the rear was made out of stainless, but most people use a case (I use leather) so it's not a big deal to me. The good thing is that Apple will review everything and make any necessary adjustments with the iPhone 5. There are also aftermarket rear panels made out of other materials for those who don't use a case.
Every other manufacture had a chance to design patent this also. If Apple wasn't the first to come up with this design patent then they wouldn't have been awarded the patent in the first place. Apple is not stupid, they know that other companies are going to try to copy them. That's why they're very specific when they write up these design patents. I think we can all agree that it's a very competitive market. If a company (any company) doesn't show that they are trying to uphold their design patents - then they are at risk of losing them. If you were a company you'd want every edge that you could get. Apples just doing what comes natural to technology companies. I'll give you a good example; it's been shown that instead of making a rigid device framework that's used on all phones, notebooks, tablets, etc. that Apple will soon use a new method very similar to using fabric. This will be very similar to a scroll that was used in ancient times. OK now fast forward 5 years when other companies will want to copy them to be completive.... What's from keeping someone like you saying "REALLY?! What material does Apple propose be used, water?" To which I would have to say this is not Apples problem. They were first at using this, and so they were awarded the patent. That's how it works. Each company needs to be responsible for their own innovativeness. Apples always in the lead of any new design and their only responsibility (as a company) is to protect their design patents, and that's exactly what they're doing. Apple can say anything that they want, but it's not Apples world and the courts will decide if they are right or not. Apples just 'putting it out there' for the courts to vote on it.
Again, this is not Apples problem, and each company needs to be responsible for its own innovativeness. Apple, as a company, just needs to show that they are trying to protect their design patents. Every company works under these same rules.
