Rezound purchased from eBay question...

I am giving up on the Charge and late last week I purchased the awesome Rezound from eBay!

I should be getting the phone within the next couple of days but I had a question. Since I purchased the phone from someone on eBay, will the phone be covered by Verizon still?

For example if the phone died within the next few months, would Verizon replace it? Because Verizon phones have a one year warranty correct? The phone is used if that makes any difference.

Any info would be appreciated, thanks!

I have Asurion coverage billed via Verizon for two previous family plan phones purchased directly from Verizon. Does that coverage now apply to new phones bought from Amazon Wireless and CostCo, or do I need to submit new online paperwork?

Since Amazon and Costco are authorized retailers, I believe you can insure your device through Verizon(asurion) and handle any issues directly at a VZ store if needed ....however, depending on the devices on your account, you cannot just transfer the insurance. Full smartphone insurance through Verizon costs $6.99 a month and needs to be added within 30 days of getting the device.

Good to know, thanks matty. I'm beyond 30 on both the phones, so I'll contact them to either cover me or stop charging me!

I was under the impression that Verizon would provide you with a refurb if you're still under the HTC manufacturer's warranty and were locked into a 2 year contract. HTC should still be able to cover the phone but you won't get a "loaner". You'll have to send the phone to them (not prepaid IIRC) and they'll repair or replace it.

true, you would get a 1 year manufacturers, not if you drop the phone and break it though
