So I just got my replacement Dinc2 after a one foot drop obliterated the screen of my launch day Dinc1 (rooted + CM7). After using the phone for a day I have to say that I am greatly disappointed in this device.

Firstly, the phone feels flimsy compared to the original. They obviously skimped on the materials and went all in on plastic. Secondly, the call quality is horrid and the speakerphone is more or less unusable in any location with any sort of background noise.

The charging port is backwards and in a stupid spot. They moved the wake button to the wrong side (I'm left handed) and I actually miss the home button/track ball. Oh yeah, the screen is no where near as crisp.

On the plus side the processor seems snappy and the larger screen is a welcome addition. The camera seems quality as well.

Thankfully I still have my upgrade and will be getting the Galaxy Nexus the day it comes out. Still, though, I'm really sad that they didn't hit a home run with the sequel to one of the best smartphones ever released.

p.s - losing three stars for every level in Angry Birds, Angry Birds Seasons and Angry Birds Rio BLOWS

I replaced my DInc with a DInc2 as well and I'm having the opposite reaction. I'm right handed, but always use the phone with my left and the power button doesn't bug me. The power port being upside down I agree with. It's stupid. The phone does feel lighter and maybe not as solid. I'll give you that.

If you're rooted on both phones you don't have to lose your progress. Just backup with Titanium, drop the SD in your new phone and restore. That's what I did. All my apps and settings carried over.

I have done it 4 times so far just using ES file explorer and dropbox, works like a charm every time, i even keep my golden eggs! ;)

...because starting over was not an option.. .
Here is the method I used to successfully
accomplish this task.
First off, you will need angry birds, angry birds
back up, (found on market ) es file
explorer, access to wifi network (given one of
your phones does not have service or is not
activated) & dropbox on both phones.
Back up your progress on old phone by hitting
backup on the app,
this will produce setting.bak and
score.bak in the angry birds backup folder on sd
card. Long press on both and
share to dropbox.
Open angry birds on your new device, beat
one level, or more ,and then back up the
progress
on your new device, this will produce
setting and score.bak on new device,
Open es on new and delete setting
and score.bak . Use dropbox on your new
phone
to download setting and score.bak , I
could not find where the files
downloaded to, so i searched for
setting.bak in es , I was able to find it like this,
copy it and
paste it back were it goes, in the angry
birds backup folder, do the same
with score.bak . Open the ab backup app on
your
new device and press "RESTORE".
Even the golden eggs you have will be there.
If just doing a factory reset, send the two files
from the backup app to dropbox, then reinstall
angry birds and the angry birds backup app,
open angry birds beat one level and hit back up
on the app, then using es delete the two files it
creates in the folder on sd card under angry
birds backup and put the ones you had chilling
in dropbox back where they were and then hit
restore.
Root access is not needed to do any of this.
Of you don't want to see the ads and still be
able to receive phone calls and text messages
just turn off mobile data.
Menu> settings> wireless & networks> mobile
network uncheck the box check it back when
done.

*you must beat one level and hit backup before resorting or it won't work*

Find the score and setting files under angry bird backup on your Sd card and send them to dropbox.
It might be confusing since you have three different versions to restore & and i think all the files are named that so maybe change (rename in es) the score and settings files for different versions like to Score Setting for rio and scorE and settinG for seasons so you know what goes where.

Oh, that would be if you backed up all your recent progress using the angry birds backup app.
If not then...

I have to say that I am extremely impressed with the battery life on the DInc2. I don't have to constantly worry about plugging it in all the time. The battery easily lasts all the work day and is close to dying when I'm going to bed in the evening. I just plug it in before bed and go to sleep.

I have to ask this... is your replacement a refurbished one? If so that would explain why the screen isnt as crisp. My original inc1 was replaced with a refurb inc1 and the screen was awful. If the phone is a refurb its most likely one that had a broken screen, was replaced with a generic screen and then sent to you. Hope that makes sense!

Brand spanking new. I'm just not jiving with it, I dunno...won't be long though, so hopefully I can turn around and sell this when I get the Nex

I received a Dinc2 as a replacement for when my Dinc's power button ceased functionality. Overall, it feels to me like the same phone as before only a little bigger (courtesy of that nice big screen) and fits my hand much better than the Dinc did. I did miss the trackball at first, because it made selecting things quick and easy, but I've gotten used to the arrow keys on the keyboard now. But yea, overall, I like it much better than my Dinc (accept for the face I can root without downgrading), but too each their own. :)

Agreed the battery life is fantastic. I really love this phone

I don't agree with ANY of the OP's complaints except for the speakerphone (because it does suck BIG TIME).

I love the build quality (and I'm coming from a D1, which was built like a tank), the call quality is perfect, I could care less where the charging port and the wake button are, I would never buy a phone that had a track ball, and the LCD screen is gorgeous to me.

There are lots of AngryBirdsBackup apps. Which one actually works? I tried one in August but it didn't work. I found one that did work in September the last time I had a warranty replacement. However, today I did a factory reset and cannot find the same app on the marketplace.

I have a Droid X.
Score.bak & setting.bak files are saved on my sd card.
I downloaded ES File Explorer.
I long pressed the file and selected share but it says, "No applications can perform this action"
What step am I missing? What is dropbox?

actofgod, I had the same initial impressions as you. It is a bit cheaper build, and moving the wake button and flipping the usb port was really frustrating for a while. my wife still has her inc1 and it does seem to be a bit more vibrant screen, but the call quality, to me, seems about the same.

But, after using it for a while now, I think the larger screen, faster cpu, and improved HTC Sense and sense apps, make it an acceptable trade off. My wife's inc1 now seems too small when I hold it and it doesn't seem to respond as fast. And the slow shutter speed of the camera is horrible.

The angry birds backup app I use is the one by antbee version 0.0.4, it shows a picture of a piggy waring a soldier helmet on the app main screen.
I just looked in the market and don't see it anymore, that's the only one I have ever used.
Maybe you can find it on appBrian or freewarelovers or something.

Dropbox is a type of cloud storage.
You can save & backup stuff on their online servers. It is free and you can find it on the market.
Try installing dropbox first then going into es and long pressing on the score.bak and see if it gives you the option to share via
dropbox.
Also, what version of Es file explorer do you have installed, I think the support for dropbox sharing started with a certain version you might not be running.
That's weird that long pressing gives you no option in es, when i long press on my hTC I get about like 8 different options.
Maybe it's just that your on a motorola Droid...
